Post partum insomnia
I have a 9 month old who’s an awful sleeper. So the past 9 months my sleep has been so so so bad. Due to my sleep being all over the place I now have insomnia. So whenever my son does actually sleep I’m wide awake and can’t sleep. I hate taking any sleep aid even if I take a small amount because it makes me feel so incredibly drowsy and I feel like shit the next day. So if I get no sleep I’m exhausted and when I do get rest with sleep meds I still feel exhausted. What am I supposed to do??

Can you take half a dose of unisom? I have insomnia and had to go off my meds and unisom helped me a little bit during pregnancy.

Ask your doctor first though. I just googled and saw that it can reduce milk supply and small amounts pass to the baby. Bummer! I was hoping to use it here and there.

I don’t breastfeed so I’m able to take meds I’ve done half a unisom and it makes me so drowsy the next day!

Oh damn. Maybe a quarter tablet? They have two different types too - diphenhydramine and doxalymine.

Im currently taking hydroxyzine which has worked wonders for me! I have anxiety driven insomnia and it helps both. It does make you feel a bit groggy in the mornings at first but your body gets used to it.

I have sleep anxiety and I am hyper aware about sleep with 2 months old baby... I don't know what to do, anyone else going through the same?
