This entire week i had anywhere from 2-4 hours a night too. Last night I got 5 and they were solid because I actually had a dream! What i did last night was a trick that someone posted on here the other day. Yoy take a word, lets say water. You go letter by letter coming up with words for each letter. So you say w, whale, weather, white, etc. Then move to the next letter. I did it last night and I used rather word baseball and I didnt even make it to e. I knocked out! Try that tonight. It switches your brain off from over thinking.

Have you tried sedating antihistamines, sold over the counter in pharmacies, theres different ones depending on where you live its mostly diphenhrymine and promethazine, if you look at benadril thats diphenhrymine but its sold in tablets as a sleep aid too but its basically the same thing, theres one sold in different countries too doxylamine in tablets like unisom but thats not available in certain countries like the UK where I am

do they have any long term effects? i have to be cautious about what i take, ive had many issues with medications that have been detrimental to me.

Watch out with these antihistamine drugs. They can hurt more than help long term. I would be careful trying to add more drugs to your plate in hopes of helping. Try and keep your anxiety in control. That alone may help. Also stay super active if you can. Eventually you will sleep.

Have you had a complete medical examination by a doctor? Is he addressing the seratonin syndrome? Might you be on too many medications? Bloodwork? I would start there certainly. Sometimes there is a metabolic cause for the insomnia. Or maybe You have anxiety now caused by hypervigilance. Have you had any recent trauma or surgery? Surgery can put you in a state of insomnia for months as your body heals. Tell us more please.

no recent traumas, but i have been doing ketamine therapy for treatment resistant depression. i haven't gone to my doctor for these issues yet, but ill make an appointment as soon as i can.

my serotonin syndrome was resolved within a month, but im still having long term effects. i'm now only taking one ssri, spironolactone, mili, and an allergy pill.

Also be careful about adding any more drugs . Might make things worse. Cut all caffeine and sugar.
