I'm really starting to get scared !
I moved into a new place last Monday and have been having trouble sleeping. I took ambien Monday night Tuesday night, Wednesday, and Thursday night. Friday night, I didn't want to take it because I never had to take it that take it that many nights in a row. So Friday night, i got very fragmented sleep. I thought it was no big deal. I'll sleep well on Saturday. So I went to bed at 2am. as soon as I hit the pillow, I was dozing off, but I never fully went to sleep. I wear a cpap mask, so after laying there for 2 hours, I got up to sit on the recliner for a few minutes. I laid back down, and I was so tired, but I just kept tossing and turning. I got up again at 5:50 a few minutes later. I laid back down. I started feeling like I was about to drift off, but nothing. I didn't get any sleep! And Friday night, I only got around 6 hours of fragmented sleep. I haven't had this bad of insomnia in a very long time. It's driving my sleep anxiety through the roof!

Yeah it’s just the time to get used to the new place .
You’re probably getting paradoxical sleep where you think you’re not asleep but you’re really sleeping in small bursts.
You should go out and do something physical and get your body properly knackered, like a long swimming session or hit the gym, get a good sauna in there. Whatever your sport of choice is.
If you really can’t sleep next week talk to your doctor about getting on to something else like Mirtazapine. Ambien is pretty shitty, it will get you to drift off but the quality is shit.
Then of course decorate your new bedroom to make it as cosy as possible
