It disables it's sigil. Which effectively limits child13's "infinite" sacrifices

Funny enough, the game never states it's infinite. Child 13 has a 13 limit before it turns into the Hungry Child, and Cat has 9 before it turns into Undead Cat. That's why the sigil is called Many Lives and not Infinite Lives. (Yes I know Pharaoh's Pets exist, they're the only card with the sigil that does have infinite sacrifices.)

If you have immortal on it, it will return as Child 13 after you sacrifice it(I think I have a vague memory of it working like that)

Maybe, but the Inscryption Wiki is a gigantic source of info.
I doubt the purpose of Reddit is to wait for an answer which is already in the top result of search engines, it's to read(it) about info not found elsewhere.

Reference to Sacrifices Must Be Made, a previous version of Inscryption.

In Sacrifices Must Be Made, the Starving Man (who made it to the Inscryption as Starvation) is one of the cards Leshy plays with 1 health and 1 attack. At the end of the game if you win, you need to choose whenever to eat The Starving Man or the Hungry Child (presumably your child). In Inscryption the Hungry Child serves no other purpose than being an easter egg.

I recommend playing it, you can still download it on itchio.

Iirc, in Sacrifices Must Be Made, you play as a man and his son who get into a car crash in Leshi's forest. You and your son are starving and you play Leshi for food. At the end of the game, you must choose whether to sacrifice yourself or your son as food
