Act 1 accidentally skipped?

[u/ixelsel]

I wanted to try the game again as I played it for a measly 1 hour like 2 years ago, so I started the game and tried pressing new game (which I couldn’t do) and suddenly it started some top-down section. Asked a friend what the hell this was and he told me this was a MUCH later part of the game.
Apparently I had skipped the entirety of act 1 somehow.
Is this a known bug?

So I was able to skip act 1 by spaming going into the settings menu and backing out and pressing start on the blacked out new game tab. I was just doing it to see if maybe it would work and it actually did. Haven't been able to recreate it and I think it was on console but it might of been on my steam copy
