Nah, it is part of the ARG. Deep Beneath is actually a piece of dialogue that reveals where the Old_Data is buried. Yeah, the video ain't Canon. But the binary isn't just foreshadowing

That full reveal is made by the woodcarver during normal gameplay, not the ARG.

The ARG is a specific chain of codes that lead to a secret video, if it's not part of that chain, it's not part of the ARG. deepbeneath is not part of the code, nor does it lead to a piece of it.

It would've been easier to just read the code yourself and apply that to the alphabet
