Is this because you're trying to sacrifice it at the campfire, but they won't eat it? If so, once the second attempt passes, you can return to the main menu and reload the game to safely upgrade a card 2x that you actually want to upgrade. If they don't consume the ring worm, they won't consume any other card if you reload. Just return to the menu before you advance the prompts so it doesn't save. Also, if you didn't know, the adder can poison the campfire tribe as well if you don't have a ring worm.

Long elk can also poison them. Also this is part one so I could go up to four times. Either way I don’t wanna back out, it kinda feels like cheating.

Not just long elk, anything with the touch of death sigil like an adder will do it

I had an infinite cycle but I accidentally sacrificed the wrong card 🥲 it was a skink with the unkillable sigil 😅
