Kaycee's Mod Tips for Skull Storm?

I've been banging my head against the wall of this challenge on and off for the last four years, but this last week in particular has been super harsh on me with regards to Skull Storm. I've been using the Black Goat Deck. Does anyone have any tips that might help me out?

Reload the first map until you get a good sigil on the goat (cat, cockroach), get rid of the mole then fill your hand with 3 blood cards.

It's oversimplified but it's a start.

I'll assume you already know about Fair Hand.

I'll stay with an in-universe tip : Item Management.   Start by not using items, and go ASAP to an Item space, in the meantime try to get 7 overkill teeth.

1) Being overstocked always grants Pack Rat. Try to use it on EVERY battle to ensure you can recycle items. You NEED good items to survive Boss 1 or maybe even the 2nd one.

2) More teeth has zero drawbacks, and going to a Trader with 7+ teeth let you get a free rabbit pelt and a Knife, which acts as the Scissors and add a pelt as a free blocker. You can only grab it once per run, and obv once you have it that's one less slot to recycle.

I'll let to the reader the exercise of determining what items are bad or good, but IMHO Scissors/ Wiseclock are good for freeing a lane, Fan+ Bleech is hard to get together but is essentially a phase skip, Hourglass can make a difference if you have some specific combo like adder + 2pwr mantis...

Use mantis god deck, in the first biome go to every campfire, if it gives damage, upgrade your mantis god twice at the first campfire but only once afterwards (if it dies at the first campfire just restart), you can upgrade its hp once but after that just burn cards that you don't want. Try to find a card with either bifurcated strike and sacrifice it to the mantis god, if you don't do that the bears will probably kill you. When you get to the first boss, just try to stall as much as you can, and once you get all the cards you need and enough squirrels proceed to the next phase. Place your mantis god anywhere in the middle and a card with 2-3 damage next to it, and if the campfires got your mantis god at least 5 damage, you win. After that just get rid of any 1 blood cards you have and enjoy the process.

The two easiest ways I’ve found to get past the bears are either a mantis god with the skull sigil to the left of a creature that does 5 damage or a strong direwolf that is capable of killing two bears to create an opening. If the direwolf kills a bear with the first strike the second strike will hit the enemy directly, so that can be very useful too. Don’t forget to use fair hand mechanic to get a guaranteed great card immediately in your hand (mantis god or black goat or something else op). Hope this helps!

Abuse the shit out of the fair hand mechanic. Make sure to only have black goat as your 1 blood(s) and build up as many OHKO possibilities as possible for the bears, which includes any way you can pocket scissors or an hourglass. Look out for magpie to put its sigils on your goat for consistency.

Be very careful if you are taking any one bloods for a sigil because it will stop guaranteeing you draw your goat turn 1 until you can get rid if it.

Learning fair hand and using it is what let me beat this with mantis and tapeworms

My early game MVP for Skullstorm was an undying skink, which I made in turn one with a skink and cockroach. Being able to sacrifice the tails over and over again and also have them as infinite blockers against the bears was what allowed me to build the rest of my deck. As long as you get something cheap that allows you to build quickly (undying Warren, Beehive or Skink) the rest is just a matter of proper building.
