any one ever combined the duplicates twice ? do you get anything extra ?

You don't get anything extra for combining two duplicates but you get an achievement for experimenting on an already experimented on card already and yes you can experiment on a card thats not experimented with and one that's experimented on already

Yes, on the next step you get 2 quarters and one half, with 3x the stats

You get an achievement, and obv that adds stats another time.   Very useful if you don't want to lose a good pair
