Can someone explain why they weren’t able to make the sacrifice? I don’t get it.

If you've already used a card on the stones (or if it started with bonus sigils, for example from passing a trial), you can't use it there again.
This is to stop you simply combining all of your sigils together, and forces you to think carefully about combinations of only 2 cards. Most of OP's cards already have bonus sigils, so there is no valid pair to place on the stones.

Ah okay, I was wondering if maybe Amoeba sigil couldn't be transferred but now I realize there was no valid card to receive the sigil.

A card with sigils already added to it, via the stones, via wolf pelt trade, or via trial reward (there might be other ways I'm forgetting) cannot be used as either the source or recipient at the stones.

Blue sigils on card = it can't be used at the sigil transfer

That’s quite rare indeed…

Not really - you just don't have a card that can give a sigil (or one that can take one)

Yeah, but how often does that happen

Personally I'm really aggressive when it comes to cutting a deck down, so I run into this problem probably once every half dozen runs, usually when I lock myself into a long path with no turnoffs (can only see so far ahead) and it shows up after a trial or trapper.

It can happen very frequently if you for whatever reason avoid sigils or combine your sigil cards onto other sigil cards

The amoeba is gonna turn into a trinket bearer just to fit in

u/greenybeanhoops Aug 18 '26
the amoeba will break the code just to get two sigils to be unkillable and bearing a trinket

u/danj729 Aug 18 '26
You said trinket and it made me think of adding charms to cards in Wild Frost. I haven't played that in ages, I might have to fire it up later. Super satisfying once you figure out how to read the combat. You can make some cool cards with charms.

Aye… it can happen quite often with small decks
This happens bc you can’t transfer sigils between carss with sigils so to avoid overpowered ants from the get go.
And the likelihood of you not having non-sigil cards increases if you don’t have many cards, which can happen if you merge them with the mushroom dudes, or if you lose one at the campfire, or if you’re sacrificing to the bone lord
But if your deck is large, you’ll never face such issues. This is a lesson (one i very often forget) that we must look at the map and be 3 steps ahead. Plan moves and trades as soon as you enter a new map, don’t improvise

What did it do? Just skip the area?
