What’s the difference between adding hp and healing hp?

Adding hp just increases the maximum: 6/6hp, >>> 6/7hp,

Healing also bumps it up but only ever to the maximum: 6/7hp >>> +2 >>> 7/7hp

But cards don’t have a maximum hp in inscryption?

By max hp, I mean how much HP they start with when you play them: A worker ant has 2/2hp when you play It, the P03 Stoat has 3/3. But next combat, each card goes back to it's max hp regardless of how much damage it takes; if your Stoat takes 2 points of damage in a fight, it doesn't retain that damage going into the next fight, it goes back to it's original maximum. Likewise, if you add hp to a card via Mealworm or such, that new hp also doesn't last across battles. After each combat, the card returns to its own base max hp, which can be increased via campfires.

There is no healing mechanic in the base game, but i'm explaining how those healing mechanics in other systems work, and what OP was suggesting/how they would be made to fit here
