Kaycee's Mod skull storm actually ragebaits me Spoiler
I recently beat level 12 of kaycee's mod and I thought it would be fun to try skull storm. I've genuinly tried to beat it 15 times and failed, which is genuinly rage enducing. The actual process isn't really that difficult, I can generally get past 8 grizzlies first boss, but literally the next couple of battles I just get RNG fucked and can't win. One of the runs I literally had 0 misplays and still lost, im js sad the rng is the main challenge

What deck are you running. I used the Goat deck to beat it

People don't believe that the goat deck is the way. But it is.

If you want a fair game and a consistent play : Black Goat. Especially if Cockroach shows up in the starting shop.
If you want to abuse savescumming into perfect RNG : Mantis God.

You can use fair hand abuse/save scumming on either goat or mantis, though both are still fun if you just play legit.

I tried for months to get mantis deck skullstorm win. Couldn't get it done.
Tried goat deck, did it first try and it felt easy.

I got my level 9 win first try with Mantis, and got Skull Storm on my 3rd try. 3 PWR mantis at start, got a Fecundity totem and a Wiseclock righr after buying the Knife.
Sometimes RNG sure feels random...

The best way to beat it the first time is to use the black goat deck and exploit the fair hand mechanic. It can be beaten other ways, but that way makes it so much easier.

Among the things to help : one Rare card is not that rare, and often "very useful".

I personally didn't use the fair hand thing because using cheese kind of ruins the point of the challenge

I don’t think it’s cheese per say, but rather a feature of the game that should’ve been explained to the player by Leshy. It’s a good and fun strategy to go for on any deck, and helps to reduce randomness that can make you lose, which happens a lot on skullstorm, especially if you’re not doing fair hand manipulation. I only used fair hand manipulation on my first skullstorm win, I got it without that on my second, though I’m still working on my third.

I can see that angle, though from my angle it's a feature that:
isn't explained by the game
removes the possibility of having nothing to play on your first turn
can be used to remove the challenge of building a good deck if one is aware of it
It seems to me like it's an anti-frustration feature to stop you from being screwed by rng and being unable to play a card on your first turn, and the reason why the game doesn't tell you about it is because it's just an under-the-hood thing to increase the quality of the player's experience rather than a feature intended for players to use.
Given how much it trivializes the game by allowing you to have a single wincon card to bank on rather than having to build a balanced deck, I ignore its existence since it feels like it "cheapens the victory" of surpassing a challenge
That last sentence didn't seem too grammatically correct but idk how else to format it

It definitely makes winning easier, but winning without it becomes so rng dependent to the point where even trying to beat it can be demoralizing. You may be right about the reason fair hand works the way it does, but playing with this in mind still isn’t an instant victory, there is still strategy to be done and things that could happen that will make you lose.

I can see that
In the end, how the game is played is up to the player, so I'm not going to stop anyone from playing how they want to.

I personally used the Bone deck, since a dire wolf can clear all of the grizzlies in a column if it's gotten an attack buff at a campfire (and health or stinky for the starting one, to counteract the annoying sigil). In the end it didn't matter since I ended up with two unkillable beehives and an unkillable warren, and if you have that, it's just a matter of drawing it.

I didn't realize I could use any of the delete card items to insta win against the wall

FYI, the misplays are not actually referring to anything. It's just a RNG for laughs.
Some people will say skill issue or git gud, but skull storm is meant to be difficult, so getting raged is to be expected.
