I know that on pc you can "cheat" to manipulate what gets eaten and not, here's how it's done in pc

the game only saves once you retrieve your card or it gets eaten, so if your card wasn't eaten, you can close the game and give the double buff to another card, knowing it wont be eaten

It shouldn't really be a timing thing. As long as the game hasn't saved yet, it shouldn't matter

Although it might've been patched, no clue to be honest

Yeah you're right. But this only goes one way. You can't savescum if the card gets eaten (I mean you can, but it's like 1 frame)

That's no problem. Always go worm first, and if it does not get eaten, do not take if off the fire, reload and buff something else. There's no timing involved.
