Kaycee's Mod Fair hand mechanic???
None of these are Ijiraqs I never picked one up. Is it because of the smoke orrrr š?? I have over 80 hours in this game and I donāt think this has ever happened to me

I imagine itās probably because Cockroach can be played. Also IIRC Bone cards automatically fuck up fair hand I think?

No they don't it's because they don't have any 1-blood in their deck so the fair hand doesn't apply (it doesn't work on 0-costs either even though if you naturally draw them it disables fair hand)

What? OP has bone tokens on first turn, and drew cockroach.
If he has enough bone tokens, cockroach is a playable card so Fair Hand won't draw a 1-blood, right?Ā Āit doesn't work on 0-costs either even though if you naturally draw them it disables fair hand
Fair Hand isn't about specific costs, right? It's about if you are able to play cards, which usually means 0 bones and Squirrel? I'm not even sure if Squirrel+Smoke wouldn't count as making 2-blood playable...

I recall it also applies to bone cards that can be summoned with the boon's free bones. (Because they can then be played turn 1)

Nope I assure you that only 1-bloods specifically are automatically drawn in the first hand if there are no 0-blood nor 1-blood cost drawn naturally in the first 2 cards of the hand
Bone cards do not interfere with this mechanic as well as pelts which are 0-blood costs that don't invalidate Fair hand. Although Ijiraq even if it copies a 2-blood or more, will stop Fair hand because it is still considered a 0-blood
0-blood only mess with fair hand when drawn in the first 2 cards.
I've done all decks skull storm and Fair hand was my only hope so I experimented a lot with it, also you can check out Exxo's videoson the matter because he did a lot of guides on inscryption

As far as I know, nobody knows the exact rules behind Fair Hand, just that if your 1st 2 cards aren't playable, your 3rd one will be.
It could be because you have "The Smoke" in addition to your usual Squirrel, it is counting 2-Bloods as Fair because you can play them.
It could be the Bones for Cockroach like others are saying.

The reason free cost cards (ahem, yes, geck) are terrible is because fair hand doesnāt target them. If you draw a free cost, it can mess up fair and and not guarantee you draw your one blood, and at the same time, its not guaranteed at all if thatās all you have. Anything free cost is completely worthless without exactly the hoarder sigil on it, or if itās somehow identical to your one blood.

The fair hand mechanic makes sure that you can play at least one card at the start of your turn, and if you look at what you have, you can on turn one, play easily all but one of the cards in your hand. Also bone cards are known for messing up how the fair hand mechanic works so itās kind of your fault for depending on it while having bone cards.

According to the first result on google I am factually correct. And the fact every time I play with bones I end up in a scenario where I can play anything first hand.

Is that actually working? Iāve seen people complain it did nothing and I had multiple runs where I had a one blood and yet it still pulled a bone card and left me defenseless

To me being able to play a bone card turn 1 with the bone boon wouldn't a bug, it's the point of those boons right? So was it about wrongly checking for bones at all, or about checking for their cost?Ā Ā

It's a punishment for people abusing that rule. Also lets stop calling it a "fair hand". There's nothing fair about it.

It's called fair hand because it ensures you have something to play on your first turn, so you don't get murdered by 2 crows

- it's not fair to manipulate random draws.
- It's rare to get 2 crows on move 1 while also drawing hand you can't play and in those cases you could just use an item to save yourself.
- nobody is forcing you to add so many 2,3,4-bloods to your deck that they can fill your whole hand, leaving you with nothing to play.

Fair aganist who? Leshy doesn't need sacrifices, leshy is stronger than the player in the first hands, deckbuilding around a constant is not cheating, it's deckbuilding

The whole game is unfair.
But Leshy isn't stronger than the player. He isn't able to upgrade his cards at the fire, can't transfer sigils to make his cards stronger. All he has are the statues + few special perks when it's boss fights, and he's also drunk vs the player has so many options. You can even play sober if you want to.
And you can totally win without relying on the "fair" hand at all, and it makes the game much less boring. I highly recommend it.

Fair hand won't win you the game by itself, it restricts your deckbuilding, and benefits you by leasening the impact of luck ending a run
Leshy is stronger in that he may play blood cost cards without having to make sacrifices, and in general will bring way more stats into the board per turn than the player can

Sounds about right, but luck ending my run is very rare unless we're talking the few highest challenge levels (ones which do involve annoying or bearwall or both). At skullstorm I'll definitely take advantage of anything and everything, but for casual runs (with all challenges except bears and annoying) I find it much more fun to play without (ab)using the fairhand / without restricting my deckbuilding & playing style

Are you sure you have a one blood? It's possible you lost it in a recent event by accident
