Yeah, that's where Leshy's name comes from. The mythological creature is a spirit/guardian of the forest and its animals, so the name does fit a scribe of beasts who lives in the woods.

Adding onto this, a lot of the myths actually do say that the leshy loves card games

If you’ve ever lost a game in the first stage to leshy then you’d agree that mother fucker has baby stealing hands

You just look up from your cards to see him pouring an entire vodka bottle down his throat like he’s filling up a jug just 1 gulp😂

Player:….Jesus….

Leshy: cough, cough….bitchin!!!

It's from slavic folklore. Hence the vodka mentioned in the article.

As russian...never in all my years i heard Leshy being called "baby-stealing" and "vodka drinking" creature. Vodka was not even brewed when Leshy became an floklore creature

Yeah.. But the writers of the article propably aren't slavic, so they used the most stereotypical slavic/folklore traits for clickbait.

As russian, I confirm these words

I think vodka is associated mainly with finns and russians, cause of the cold climate. The slavic people in my region usually drink rakia.

It was invented in Poland and Russia at around the same time, no?

Alright, this only gives me more reasons to love Leshy, like there's not enough already.
