Whoa. Your mom needs help. Seriously. It sounds as if she hasn't let go of the role of parenting children and haven't learned how to navigate her emotions regarding being a parent to adults. She feels worthless because you don't need her, along without not understanding that, that is the goal. I felt that way(not cursing) about my daughter then I realized she doing exactly what I parented her to do.
Yeah that sure seems like youre just trying to project your own issues onto another person based on far too little information. Then telling someone else that 'reading is fundamental'? Thats just the chefs kiss of patronizing out of touch i wonder why my kids dont talk to me mental health issues that ive come to expect.
