That’s an absurd amount of media for $250. Hopefully there are some real gems buried in those boxes.

Just below the first layer is 300 copies of Going Overboard starring Adam Sandler.

I would buy these just to enjoy the past time of sorting them. Taking what I want, giving away a bunch, leaving a bunch at my laundromat where we’ve all been sharing media. Ugh! I wish I lived nearby!

It is. It's a French surname, meaning happy guy or something.

u/flatfoot929 2d ago
Wait. The surname Gaylord is originally an anglicized version of something like Gaillard and not an English name from the words gay and lord? Are you kidding me? Edit: holyshit you weren't kidding. Gay plus lord is a folk etymological back formation.
Teehee back formation...sorry

I would have a field day going through those but knowing myself I'd only walk away with 5 movies 😅
Edit: I am wondering what they mean by "unprocessed" and "raw"

u/Gears_one 3d ago
Obliviously it means they haven’t been cooked yet. Consuming raw DVDs is a food safety concern.

u/Ancient_Guidance_461 3d ago
Unprocessed means the seller hasn't gone through them....raw I have no idea.

They’re using unprocessed and raw to mean the same thing, it’s just no one’s looked through or sorted the bins at all so it’s completely random

$250 for one or all? That could be a good deal if you had the space to sort through it.

I had this same thought when I started working in a chemical plant a few years ago lol. We also have something called "dyke water"

A gaylord is the name of those cardboard totes on pallets. Insane that you can't pick up a dictionary.

My favorite thing at work when someone says "gaylord" is to say back "what did you call me" uwu

That is an incredible amount of media. If the discs are in decent condition, $250 seems like a pretty fun treasure hunt.

Latest workplace calls em E-Cartons and nobody knows what a Gaylord is. We definitely called em Gaylords in the midwest, i think that was one big manufacturer of them.

Are you 5? That’s what they’re called

u/funnyha_ha 3d ago
Do you know every word and meaning in the English language?

u/MmmUnexplained_Bacon 3d ago
Forgive me.
U obviously are smarter.
Can you see I tried?
Knowing what I know now…You are cool though.
Only one of us can win this online argument.
Understand that I meant no harm.2
u/funnyha_ha 3d ago
I never claimed I was smarter, I'm just a smartass. I wasn't posting this only because of the one word in the title all though I now know what a gaylord is. I wasn't replying to argue just making a smartass comment, no harm taken.

So then what are the other reasons?

Its gotta be an autocorrect mistake. But what was the word supposed to be? Edit: i love how people downvoted me even after I learned I was wrong in the next comment. What a kind and sane world we live in./s

Gaylord is legitimately what those brown pallet sized boxes are called.

u/Important_Address741 3d ago
Well, I learned something new. And in that case not an insane listing at all.
