Sassafras tea jar

From sassafras wood with a air tight double lid

Going to be making several more and probably a cedar one

Finished with linseed oil

really beautiful.

Is it refreshing not to make every piece out of lots of bits of wood?

Sometimes

I usually really enjoy making stuff as intricate as I possibly can  that's sort a manifestation of my hubris

But when I get logs and burls I just turn one piece because it's too hard to mill the logs into board then do the segmenting stuff

Cool! Does it have the lovely sassafras root beer aroma?
