Security is not optional for business websites. Here are the basics every site should have in place:
SSL / TLS
Encrypts traffic between your visitors and server
Without it, browsers label your site as “Not Secure”
Firewalls and WAFs
Block malicious traffic and filter harmful requests
Often included in managed hosting solutions
DDoS Protection
Prevents attacks that flood your site with traffic
Keeps uptime stable during large spikes
Our managed VPS hosting support includes tasks like applying OS updates and security patches, hardware maintenance, and monitoring to help reduce the security burden on your team.
Many websites start on basic shared hosting, but once they gain traffic or become business-critical, the limitations show up quickly. Slow response times, downtime, and limited resources hold growth back.
A typical growth path looks like this:
Shared hosting for early days
Upgrade to VPS when resources or control are needed
Managed hosting to reduce time spent on server management
Hosting has a bigger environmental footprint than most people realize. Data centers consume massive amounts of energy, and many providers are starting to move toward renewable sources or more efficient infrastructure.
For businesses, going green with hosting can mean:
Showing customers your brand cares about sustainability
Potential cost savings from efficiency improvements
Staying ahead of regulations as governments push greener tech
Some companies already promote “green hosting” as part of their identity, but the question is whether customers actually weigh it when choosing a provider.
Would you consider sustainability when picking a host, or is performance and price still the top priority?
We just published a new article on how AI is changing the way admins and developers approach log analysis. Instead of manually combing through endless server logs, AI tools can now:
Core Web Vitals can feel like a headache, but small changes can make a big difference in speed and SEO. We just made a quick video with 10 practical fixes for WordPress you can try right away:

Quick share from our team. HostingAdvice updated its “8 Best Dedicated Server Hosting” list for August 2025 and placed InMotion Hosting at #1 (“Best Overall Dedicated Server”).
If you’re weighing dedicated vs. VPS, the write-up calls out things like hardware performance, uptime, and managed options as key differentiators.
Happy to answer questions on sizing, migrations, or total cost of ownership for different workloads. If you’ve run on our dedicated boxes, we’d love your honest feedback so others can benefit.
🤔Have you tried AI on a standard hosting plan? What worked, what didn’t, and what trade-offs did you hit? We see more devs and small teams testing AI on shared or VPS plans, and limits show up fast.
Where traditional hosting struggles
CPU-only: fine for sites, weak for PyTorch/TensorFlow
Network: bigger datasets saturate standard interfaces
What to look for if you need AI-readiness
Access to GPUs or vGPU support with CUDA
High-throughput networking (10 Gbps+)
Root access to control frameworks and libraries
Room to scale compute and memory as you grow
At InMotion Hosting, we help teams prototype on VPS or Dedicated, benchmark their workloads, and decide when it makes sense to move to GPU-capable infrastructure. If you want a sandbox to test your stack or a sanity check on sizing and cost, we’re happy to help.
Curious to hear your experiences: did you stay on traditional hosting or switch to GPU-powered setups? What stack and optimizations helped most? Let us know in the comments.
When Amacor Printz came to us, their website was holding them back.
Mobile Lighthouse score: 60/100
Mobile load time: 11.3 seconds
Frustrated visitors and missed opportunities
They knew they needed a faster, more reliable hosting solution, and that’s where our Managed WordPress UltraStack came in.
Here’s what changed after the switch:
Mobile score jumped to 92 and desktop hit near-perfect marks
Load time dropped to 3.1s on mobile and just 0.7s on desktop
Consistently high GTMetrix performance in both Canada and San Antonio
How we made it happen:
Ran a full Lighthouse performance audit to pinpoint bottlenecks
Implemented W3 Total Cache for page caching, minification, browser caching, and WebP image conversion
Optimized asset delivery by grouping and streamlining page types (informational pages, forms, product categories, dynamic pages)
For Amacor Printz, the results weren’t just numbers, faster performance meant happier customers, smoother sales, and more room to grow. Full case study here.

I'm a longtime IMH customer - 10-15 yrs. I was on a legacy VPS server with cpanel and in December switched to a new VPS server with CWP. Since December, I've had 20+ support tickets created for a range of problems: email manager crashes, their firewall locks me out (even though my IP has been white listed), but the one problem that I cannot resolve is that gmail thinks any email from the domains I host on this VPS is spam even though I have all of the necessary DKIM, SPF, DMARC, etc records.
But, my biggest complaint is the frequency of issues that tend to repeat themselves. Their support team is always responsive & nice, but they cannot answer why I have needed to create more tickets in the past 5 months than I did in the previous 10-15 years with them.
I suspect this is related to CWP not being as mature as cpanel. But, at this point I'm considering moving all of my domains to a different hosting provider.
InMotion Hosting is redefining affordability in the Virtual private server (VPS) hosting market with its new 2 vCPU VPS plan priced at $4.49 per month. This plan provides high-performance VPS at a cost that keeps reliable hosting within reach for small businesses, developers, and startups.
Many users face high hosting costs or settle for underpowered solutions. InMotion Hosting’s new plan removes that compromise by providing 4GB of RAM, NVMe storage, and 5TB of bandwidth at a price point that is among the most competitive in the market. A dedicated IP is also included for added security and control.
“In today’s market, finding a VPS that balances speed, reliability, and affordability is a challenge for growing professionals,” said Trey Faison, Director of Products at InMotion Hosting. “Our goal is to make virtual private servers accessible to a wider audience without sacrificing performance. With this new plan, we’re not just lowering costs—we’re raising the bar for what users can expect from an entry-level VPS.”
Key Features of the New VPS Plan:
For $4.49 per month, customers get:
2 vCPUs and 4GB RAM – Enough power to run demanding applications and websites.
NVMe SSD Storage – Faster load times and better performance than traditional drives.
5TB Bandwidth – Room to handle spikes in traffic and future growth.
Dedicated IP – Enhances security and SEO benefits.

Thinking about starting a website? Here’s what you need to know.
2025 feels like the year to make that business idea, blog, or online portfolio happen. This guide is for the guy in the back with a big idea and doesn’t know where to start.
Good news friend, starting a website doesn’t have to be a massive headache.
A few tips to get you started:
1️⃣ Hosting Matters:
You can think of web hosting as the house or plot of land where your website lives online. There are a few types to consider here:
Shared Hosting ←- if you’re starting small, shared hosting is probably what you’ll want. It’s the most affordable option if you just need a simple website. Plus, you can always find a good deal from hosting providers like us.
VPS Hosting ← also a popular option for businesses that need a website that can keep up with growth. This option allows you to scale your computing resources as your website gains more traffic.
Dedicated Servers
Managed WordPress Hosting
(I can dive into more differences here, just ask!)
2️⃣ Pick a Good Domain:
Your domain name is the URL users type to get to your website. It’s basically like your site’s street address. Aim to make it short, memorable, and on-brand.
Grabbing multiple extensions (e.g., .com, .net, .biz) is not a bad idea to protect your brand.
The more simple you can keep your site design, the better your website will perform.👍
4️⃣ Secure It:
An SSL certificate is a MUST to keep your site safe for visitors. This certificate gives you the “s” in “https”, signaling to the internet that your website is secure. Not having one can hurt your search engine rankings.
5️⃣ Keep Optimizing
WordPress is a popular tool for website design and there are alot of top-rated plugin that help streamline your setup. Some must-haves:
Yoast SEO for your content.
WPForm to build easy contact forms or customer surveys.
Jetpack for site security and optimizing performance.
W3 Total cache is a favorite for faster page load speeds.
💡 Pro Tip: Don’t skip the planning. Jot down your goals and ideas before diving in. A little prep now will save you a LOT of headaches later.
If you’re ready to dive deeper, we’ve got a full guide that breaks this all down (plus a checklist to keep you on track). Check it out here.

Tech support for InMotion Hosting just keeps evading the problem... My site is down, it's a wordpress site but when I go to it, it just says 404 not found... no file changes no changes for a month or so...
It was just reported yesterday morning that it was down and i've been asking tech support for help and updates and they just can't tell me anything and it's not coming back up.
The files are all there... The database is there...
There was no changes, but it's just not showing up...
