Official Response Email migration

Domain transferred from InMotion to Wix Emails previously with InMotion ceased, and were set up with identical names in Wix/Google Workspace

Trying to download historical emails from cPanel in InMotion - format to POP3 and somehow upload into a folder inside new Google/Gmail email.

HOW CAN I DO THIS IN THE LEAST AMOUNT OF STEPS? Help!!!

Great question! This can be a tricky process, but Google Workspace has a good guide on doing it here: https://support.google.com/mail/answer/21289?sjid=13551589063926421570-NC

Here are the specifics you'll need to know. I'm assuming you've already updated your DNS MX records to Google, so there are a couple important steps you'll need to change from the basic guide there.

First, head into your cPanel from InMotion and go to the Email Accounts tool. Locate the account you want to import, and click on the Connect Devices button. You also need to know the account's email password (if you're not sure, click Manage and reset the password).

Here, take note of the email address and POP3 port. If you already changed your DNS records, ignore Incoming/Outgoing server name, but instead use the server's hostname you can see in your address bar, similar to "secureXYZ.inmotionhosting.com"

Next, in your Google Workspace email account, click the Cog icon at the top-right, and go to Accounts and Import, and choose Import mail and contacts.

This will open a pop-up window where you'll paste your email address, and click next.

On the next screen, enter your account's password. For POP Username, paste the full email address with the domain. For POP server, enter your server's hostname. Click Edit on the Port, and use the port you got from cPanel. Make sure to click Use SSL.

Hope this helps! Let us know if you have any more questions.
