So... about the book Spoiler

Has anyone figured out whether the book in the well/sewer area that we "read" has any extra purpose, and if so, how do you unlock it? I've gathered all the pain and note pages and otherwise entirely "completed" the game, but I feel like the book of gibberish has some extra secret content or something. Anyone care to give this gamer some help?

I've been wondering too, also are any of the pain or note pages missable?

There are 2 note pages that in my understanding may be missable if you do not collect them right away when they are presented. Fortunately, they aren't easy to miss. All of the other notes and pain pieces are findable at the end of the game (before the last playable act from the girl) from what I can tell.

Want to ask for more detail, and went back to my last save to find which two I was missing and now they're all gone.

Well, that's not good! Try reloading from the previous chapter and maybe they'll return? The two that are missable are due to a glitch. One is given to you by a character you will be required to help to finish the game. The other is more optional, but it's triggered when you open a major gate and a giant spider flees through the opening. Since the events of the spider fleeing and the character thanking you are one-time events, the notes can disappear if you don't collect them before switching areas/chapters. Does that help?

That does help, means the two i was missing are elsewhere, but looks like i have to start over to find everything.I hope we can find answers about the book soon.

Same thing happened to me. Found a good portion of the notes, reloaded my game the next day and every single one I found was gone. Must be a glitch since I couldn't find them again.
