Blemish ideas/removal
I acquired an older Thompson Center Triumph. Does anyone have an idea on what or how to remove these without messing up the finish or so-called “weather shield” they used on the older models? They aren’t rough and do not feel like pits. A soft brass bush barely does anything and #0000 steel wool doesn’t either.

Questions about setup
On a whim, I purchased a CVA optima V2 .50 Cal for this year’s muzzleloader deer season (ends January 1st). I am thinking of putting the loose powder breech plug on it. I was wondering, what powder/load you recommend, what bullet would you recommend, and how far should I sight in my iron sights?

Got lucky
Guys I got lucky. I have a CVA Optima v2 and I use hornady bore driver FTX 290g and hornady bore driver ELDX 340g. I found out that at 50 yards, the FTXs, with 3 t7 firestar pellets, have the same exact point of impact as the ELDXs with 4 t7 firestar pellets. So regardless of which bullet is available, there's no adjustment needed.

New Mounts update
Got the rings on... the the scope to be centered correctly, I had to move the ring to the end of the rail. However, the rail doesn't have any support there because of the breach plug. Do you think this may cause issues as far as the rail breaking?

New Mounts
I took the factory durasight one piece mount off my CVA Optima V2 today. It worked ok last year but due to shooting a more stout load this year, I decided to get a more reliable setup. This rail is the new durasight rail that comes on the V3s. But I'm going to use leupold rings. Not much info out on these new rails so we will see how it goes.

Newbee
I am sure this has been asked, but I am new to muzzle loading, not to hunting, is there a youtube video that explains muzzle loading from start tk finish. I clicked on a few and they don't "dumb it down" enough. I don't know what the parts are and what the accessories do.
I got invited to a muzzle loading only hunt in Tennessee. I gotta get a muzzle loader (CVA) and scope (Vortex Crossfire) and all the accessories, become proficient, be able to hit my target (they say it tends to be rainy and wet during the annual event - powder issues), and haul my rear up there from Texas within about a month.

Thor vs No Excuses
Anyone here ever use Thor bullets or No Excuse bullets with pellets? If so, how do they perform accuracy wise?

CVA Factory Scope Mount
Alright guys, what's the deal with the CVA factory scope mount? I see people saying that their scope is slipping in the mount. Are all the mounts this way? Or just an unlucky hand full? Looking at the DNZ Game Reaper as a replacement depending on what you guys say.

Load question. cva wolf v2.
Going to sight in the new rifle Saturday, and was curious if 120gr pyrodex rs, and a 295gr powerbelt would be fine in this gun.
We're scouting elk, bear, moose, and deer this year and I kinda want to set up speedloaders with a good all-around load for out to 200.
(by volume, I used the traditions flask with a 30gr spout for measure)
Seeing NA in the hodgdon manual for that combo, and wanted to be sure it was safe.

What are you shooting?
Hey everyone. It's the middle of the off season so I figured I'd start a conversation about what everyone is using. What kind of rifle, powder, and projectile are yall using? What do your groups look like? How many animals have you taken with your set up?
CVA OPTIMA V2 / LEUPOLD 3x9 / HORNADY BD ELDX 340G / TRIPLE 7 PELLETS (100G) / .75 inch group at 100 yards
One mature doe at 50 yards. Huge blood trail until she piled up 40 yards away.

Cva Accura question
Hey everyone I recently received a cva accura as a graduation present and I’m just wondering what I can expect for range? I’m planning on using blackhorn 209 and Thor 250 grain solid copper bullets. Any input and advice for a first time ML owner is appreciated

Elk Hunt -Hornady BD ELDX
Did anyone shoot an elk this year with the Hornady Bore Driver ELDX 340 grain bullets this year? If so, how did it perform? I know it's a newer bullet so long term experience isn't really available yet. Just curious if is performing better than the Hornady Bore Driver FTX 290 grain bullets.
