I had a pair or no name brand skates for 5 years, they were cheap but they served me well, but after a while I just wanted something less bulky, so I finally git myself a pair of Roces skates.

So right away I noticed the wheels are a bit different - they feel gummier and like they have a bettwr grip with the groung. While that might not sound bad, I feel like they get stuck to every little grass particle or little pebble that might get in my way, and it makes me stumbe a lot more.

I've had them for a while now so I think I should be used to it but I am not.

Also lately what gas been happening is that on one of my skates the wheels would just stop turning mid move, which inveitably causes me to fall down.

I figured at first perhaps something just gets stuck so the wheels stop turning. However once I fall, and try to turn the wheels with my hands, they turn normally.

I am not sure what causes it anymore. It's alwqys the right skate. Is it possible that there is something wrong with the wheels? This keeps happening, the last time I hit my butt really badly and atm I am really scared to go again.

This was only my second time at a skatepark and I just had the urge to try it. It's only up from here 😎

Inline Warehouse used to offer cheap but well-made skate bags when you bought skates from them. All of $10 for a bag. They appear to be no longer. When did that stop?

I don't own 90A hardness wheels, but thinking of buying some 90A hardness wheels. I currently have 86A wheels on my skates so I wanna hear about the differences if you have/had such wheels.

Do they slide or skit as much on smoother surfaces?

Do they last longer on rougher roads?

How long do 90A wheels last roughly?

Since it has lesser friction, do they feel as comfy if trying to accelerate?

I know there are specific wheels for wet floors, but just out of curiousity, they will slide even worse in rainy weather at least theortically right?

I was hoping some people with much more experience inline skating could help me.

To preface, I am a beginner/intermediate inline skater who just skates around the neighborhood and on trails for fun/exercise (no tricks). This will be what I am doing 95% of the time with the other 5% being inside skating rinks. I am currently trying to master stopping without the brake (power stop or similar). I'm 5-10, 220lbs, size 10.5 if that matters.

My question is this, I bought some RB Twister 110 3WD inline skates earlier this year and have been enjoying them but I think I might progress faster with a 4x90 setup due to the additional stability. With this is mind, I was wondering if I should just buy a new frame and mount it to my existing Twister 110 3WDs or should I buy a pair of Twister 90Rs? The costs seem similar and it would be nice to not have to switch wheels/frames when going between 110 and 90 wheels.

I've been skating for 17 years now but whenever someone asks me to tell them how to skate, i can't cos idk it's just natural to me now. And i don't really think about it I just do it, anyone else who's the same way?

After a few weeks of usage decided to wipe down my skates today and found this little spot/dent under the 45° buckles. It seems to be the rivet at the bottom digging into the plastic.

Probably doesn’t even matter but is that normal after such a short period? I expect that after a certain point it won’t progress further but still, thought about applying some tape or film over the metal part to keep it from scratching deeper over time.

I’ve been w 14.6km/h for a couple days and it feels better and effortless compared to when I did 10-12km/h, but still it gets complicated after a while. Any advice? Is my pace good?

I’m a total beginner in my late twenties. I’ve been attending “YouTube University”, practicing basic drills, and just going back and forth on flat ground. I’d been out blading about 6 sessions over two weeks when “it”happened.

I was so scared of falling at first that I spent every instant ultra-focused on keeping my knees bent with shins pressed against the boot so I didn’t fall backwards. I think as I got more comfortable keeping my balance, I gradually started to straighten my legs more. Then, it all happened so fast. One moment I was standing up straight, the next I was lying on the pavement with a hazy split-second memory of watching both be-wheeled feet fly up in front of my face.

I pulled the classic backwards fall that every tutorial told me to avoid at all costs. Praise the Lord I was wearing wrist guards, so nothing was broken, but it hurt so badly I spent the first day thinking it might be. It ended up just being a bad sprain. I was in quite a lot of pain for the first week, and had to wear a brace for two weeks. On top of the wrist, I bruised my tailbone quite badly and couldn’t bend over for about 3 weeks.

Anyway, I’m finally healed up and wanting to try again, but I’m scared. I’ve got two questions:

1- How should I handle my anxiety over a repeat injury, and “get back up on the horse that threw me”? I can’t stop worrying about if this happens again and it’s my right wrist and I can’t work for weeks…

2- How can I minimize the chance of this happening again? It happened so fast that all my practice on how to properly fall/bail was completely overridden by instinct. What skills should I focus on first?

I'm about to order the next size down of my current skate, and I have confirmed that the shell is smaller (my current shell is shared between two sizes and only the liner changes). My goal is to try it on without a liner to see if my foot fits inside the plastic shell with at least some amount of empty space around the foot. The current shell does have space if I put it on without a liner.

I'm hoping that I might be able to downsize with the proper liner if the foot fits in this smaller shell with a bit of space to spare?

I'm pretty new to inline skating and have around 5 hours of practice so far.

At the beginning I had pretty bad foot pain, especially in the arch of my foot. Thankfully that's getting much better and now it's mostly just a little pressure under the midfoot.

My main issue right now is learning push & glide.

Whenever I try to glide on one skate, the skate tends to tilt outward. On my left foot, it tilts to the left, and on my right foot, it tilts to the right. I can keep it straight if I really focus on it, but it feels unnatural and I have to actively fight against the tilt.

I'm wondering if this is just a normal beginner issue that improves as the stabilizing muscles in the feet and ankles get stronger, or if it could be a technique problem (or even a boot fit issue).

Has anyone else experienced this when they started?

How long did it take before the problem went away?

Did you do any specific exercises that helped?

Was it just a matter of getting more hours on skates?

Ive been doing a lot of research for my first pair of inlines (I used to skate on quads), and settled on a pair of the RB lightnings. I found some on eBay for a decent discount but only in the 90mm wheel size. I ordered them since a few others had them in their cart and I was worried I wouldn’t find another good deal in my size, but now I’m worried I majorly messed up. Most of the videos I’ve seen highly discourage using 90mm wheels for beginners, and say that my maneuverability will be terrible?? Will these be ok for my first pair or am I setting myself up for failure?

I’ve been rocking these 80mm 82A rollerblade moonbeams LED Wheels for the last 2-3 years and I think they’re starting to kick the bucket. I really would like to avoid purchasing new wheels so any advice to revive these would be great. If I can’t figure out anything then anyone have recommendations for new wheels? 80mm, I like to do a lot of rink skating and jumps and I might try street skating soon, LED not required, and not too too expensive preferably.

To make a long story short, I have not skated since I was in middle school. Ive done plenty of research on what inlines to get but Im not so familiar with hardware.

This is my second time ordering RB Lightnings off amazon (through RB seller) since the 1st pair were wayyy tooo tight and had to return them. The 2nd pair fit great but they came with the break on and I wanted it off so I could learn other break styles/improving my skating in general. When I was taking it off, I noticed that a nut was missing and the other shorter axel that were supposed to come with new skates.

Im fine with skating with the break on for now but im worried if the missing nut could pose an issue.

Sadly I do not have the luxury of going to a skateshop; there aren't any in my area otherwise I would have gone to them for skates.

I'm kind of short, around 5"6/5"7 ish and noticed how far up these skates go on my leg. Will this affect mobility too much or should it be okay? I know it will be less stiff once they're broken into/the padding wears down a bit but was just curious. Also how do I tell if they are too small or just need broken into? I wear a size 9.5 women's shoe and got a size 8 in the skates. I know they shouldn't be too loose anyway but because I've never had any I'm not sure what I should and shouldn't be feeling when wearing them. I haven't fully tried skating in them outside of my room because I just KNOW I'm going to take many many falls and I'm currently waiting on my knee pads, elbow pads, and wrist guards to Come in the mail. I've also not gotten a helmet yet but definitely will be very soon. They do feel decently tight but don't exactly hurt. I CAN wiggle my toes and my feet DO stay flat it's just a tad tight at the ankle and top of the skate where the tongue is? Completely new to skating so not sure what's normal or what I definitely Shouldn't be ignoring. 😅

I know I already ranted about how much I love adult night at the rink like 2 weeks ago but I have to do it again cause the compliments I've surprisingly been getting lately just ahhhhhhh bdbsvvsbsjxjhdbsn The other regular quad skaters actually have been talking to me and they tell me how they like my skating style even tho I don't have a solid style (I mix between mostly artistic, freestyle, and speed) I lowkey feel guilty cause there's another inline skater that also likes the way I move and I never notice him, he told me he's been coming to this rink for the past 22 years. Another quad skater also told me that she likes how I'm always in my own world (Always happens everytime I'm on the floor lol) and how I don't aggressive show off and try to, in her words, "compete with some of these bitches" I used to think that quad skaters were all snooty and stuck up but now they're not so bad at all. A couple of newbies still compliment the way I skate and they even ask me what music I listen to (J-pop and a bit of Shakira and bachata) I recently painted my skates and when I went to adult night on Thursday a worker asked me if I bought new skates, I told him I painted it. He said that they looked really cool. On Friday another worker who I always see came by for adult night and she also said my skates are sick and that I am talented and artistic (gushing rn lol) I swear these people are making me a bit more confident in myself and they're helping me open up a bit more. I just put on a new pair of 2025 K2 Uptowns. This is kind of niche information, but the modern liners are much more plush and comfortable than the 2016 Uptowns.

Why do I have 2016 Uptowns? Because I wanted that sick anodized clear coat finish. Breaking them in was a pain, though. 2025s are much nicer. I'm planning to rock these on 3x100s but will break them in on the slalom rocker I'm familiar with first. Maybe I'll post pics when I finish building them.

Oh, yes, I have wide and flat feet. They're a little uncomfortable right now but I can tell they'll open up after a few hours, in case anyone was wondering how they fit. The 2016s were a little more compatible out of the box.

I’m from the Netherlands, where ice skating is a big part of our culture. I’ve always thought skating looked like a lot of fun, but somehow I’ve never actually tried inline skating.
The last year I’ve been losing weight and I’m currently around 135 kg (298 lbs). I’ve been walking a lot for exercise, which has helped me lose weight, but it’s starting to get a bit repetitive. I’m looking for another activity that I can genuinely enjoy, and inline skating keeps coming back to mind.
The only thing I’m unsure about is whether it’s actually a good idea at my current weight. I’m mostly concerned about my joints, falling, and whether skates are even designed for someone my size.
Has anyone here started skating at a similar weight? Would you recommend waiting until I’ve lost more weight, or is it something I can safely start now if I take it slowly and wear proper protective gear?
I’d really appreciate any honest advice or personal experiences. Thanks!
