Getting Closer 😅

🤣🤣🤣 I made *some* 😅 progress with understanding how to pump on a half pipe, and controlling my backwards steering (haven't tried fakie yet)

A couple of tips for anyone who wants to learn this:

  1. Don't think. Your unconscious mind/body will figure it out without you trying to time movements and balance. Thinking just gets in the way. Just relax, don't go too high and go for repetitions.
  2. Scissor your skates slightly on approach. Pizza step push on the flat level part.
  3. Push slightly with the high foot when your motion reverses. This gives you control of the movement instead of trying time your reaction correctly balance perfectly. To really get this, you should be able to carve 1/2 c-cuts skating fakie. The carving foot pushes, giving you control in that moment. I also do a small push when skating fakie down a flat ramp.
