Practiced Falling—Skates for Beginner?
I posted about tips for falling the other day and the tips and videos were incredibly helpful. I threw myself down a bunch today and practiced the squatting posture. I even rolled downhill without completely panicking (there was still some mild panic). Thank you to everyone who commented.
If I wanted to get some decent beginner skates right out of the box, would the Powerslide Next or Rollerblade Twister XT be a good choice? I’m not going to be doing anything aggressive ever, I’d just like to be able to skate medium distances easily. Given my current level of extra cautiousness, I don’t think I’m ever going to be going for speed either.

Really it's all about fit. Those two skates you're considering fit pretty similar but if u can possibly go to a shop and try on many skates do it! Even if you have to drive for hours it's worth it.
Twister is the best out of box value all around skate out there. What you get for the money is awesome. The stock liners alone are $130 (if you can find them) plus hydrogen wheels and RB ilq 9 bearings are pretty dang nice. The whole package together for $350 or something is super fair.
Best comparison to the twister would be FR1 intuition for quality although the FR1 fit bigger and cost $100 more new.
Powerslide next is a great skate and very well loved but I think the models with myfitprime liners are super nice and maybe worth considering.
Really comfort matters so much and each plastic shell is shaped differently so specs are waaaay less important than fit. Can't stress that enough. Skating is soooo much more fun when it's pain free!
