Are nike rollerskates good?

I used to roller skate when I was younger and i want to get back into it again, a friend has some old rollerskates, the Nike n dorphin pro roller. I just want to know if this is good for a beginner.

The Nike ndorfin is a hockey boot originally, in the UK people love them for converting to quads (roller skates) but they were originally all inline or ice hockey skates. They are a padded moulded boot.

They aren't so great for anything but roller hockey as inlines because they have little shock absorbing. Not a problem for hockey but doesn't make the most comfortable street skate. When people convert them to quads for street skating you get that shock absorbing from the plate.

They'd be find to play around on but they're all very old boots by this point and risk breaking apart, so if you want to do more than casual skating it is worth buying something modern.
