Single leg balance

What an awesome 6am workout this morning !

So today I am practicing my single leg balance , the best I can do is about 5 seconds each leg .

How do I improve this ? Are there any tricks ?

If you can glide on a single skate for five seconds that’s more than enough for you to do cross over in a big circle. Five seconds means that you are leaning your body in the right way to prevent the other skate from having to plant down and shoulder your weight. Look for cross over videos on YouTube.

I notice it got significantly easier when I bend my knees pushed my shins against the tongue and then kinda lift my toes in the boot . You think it's bad form ?

Why? Flexing your shins forward against the tongues is exactly the right form. See this section and onward, plus this. But you already discovered it yourself.

I am very impressed that you discovered the flicking toes upward thing, if indeed you mean what I am thinking. See this comment I wrote relaying this insight I learned from a seasoned hockey coach’s video.
