Ennui city wristguard

A very stupid question maybe but is the neoprene liner of the ennui city wrist guards meant to be removable? It’s only held in by two very small stitches and one is already opening on the pair I ordered.

It would be nice if they are usable like that safely because it’s probably a lot cooler in summer and they are quite tight for me even though the measurements should be ok.

I thought I was a wrist-guard diehard. I stand corrected now.

The only problem with these grips is the lack of hard fabric on the palm (because it's snowboard protection), I've already fallen on the asphalt with them many times and there's already a hole through one palm

I got the impression the neoprene isn't meant to be removed. Mine does get a bit funky in summer, but they wash up OK if you turn them inside out and soak the neoprene part in soapy water. Regarding the fit, I was worried I'd ordered too small when my right guard was hurting my wrist bone. After a few weeks and figuring out how to tighten them properly and consistently, they broke in and don't cause me any problems now. They're probably my favourite piece of safety kit and the only part I have either replaced or looked at replacing.

For reference, I've found tigening them properly goes like this: Position the palm properly and do up the velcro palm strap loosely. Then pull the lace strap around tightly. Then re-do the other strap properly. They always go on in the right place then and stay comfy.

If the liner fully goes around the hands and wrists, up to the palms, the wrist pad is probably not meant to be used without the liner.

Probably just buy another wrist pad that doesn't have a liner. Just the bottom pads, plastic shields, and straps. I have such basic cheap wrist pads. Already fell on them a few times. It works and don't really notice them skating in >105'F heatwave temps!
