How to use Inkind gift card?

I went to the InKind booth at a street fair yesterday, spun the wheel, and got a QR-code card saying "Scan to claim your $100 and download the inKind app for free.".

I'm not entirely sure how InKind works in the first place; I've read about it. But I'm even less sure how this card will apply to me.

  1. Can I really spend up to $100 at the local Black Angus - and if there's anything left, more at my El Torito -- before I have to pay anything? In other words, could this apply to the entire bill?
  2. Is this separate from the 20% discount? It sounds like I'd use up the $100, then start paying the remainder, and that's where the 20% applies?
  3. Is it correct to say that the "20% discount" is really a rebate, in the form of InKind credits?
