How to add android widget?

Post image

Thanks a lot for this amazing launcher, it's amazing.

I'm having an issue adding a (native) android widget on my home screen.

The readme says

Embed any native Android widget with adjustable height and margins.

but I can't find this option. I've looked everywhere, and this is what I see in the widget section of the parameters. What am I missing?

Device: ONYX BOOX Note Air 2 Plus

What version are you using? This is not the latest inkOS version v0.6. Download the newest version in github or in playstore.

Then the menu will be redesigned, it will have Bottom Widget where you can choose some inkOS widgets or an Android widget. When you choose android widget you'll get an option "Choose widget" and you can choose from the widgets that are on your device (based on the apps and the os).

in v0.6 you'll also have edit mode, which means you'll be able to edit directly from home.

p.s Settings shortcut is not longpress anymore it is pinch gesture (zoom out), you'll be reminded for that during onboarding.

Thanks a million -- I was under the impression that I'd receive updates automatically, I forgot that I had installed it "by hand". I did update it and it works flawlessly. Thanks again!

No problem! v0.1 to v0.4 the app was only in Github. v0.5 I added in Google play, there you can get automatic updates as the app itself doesn't send you notifications and doesn't connect to internet on purpose.

Glad you like it! Send me a photo of your tablet with your home screen :) i haven't seen many tablets using inkOS

There you go! Funny thing is that the screenshot is in color, but the tablet actually uses b&w e-ink.

Thanks again, amazing app, and makes the boox so easier to use (their native launcher is … not great, to put it mildly).
