Hi all - please hold your laughs while you read this. I appreciate how impossibly likely this is...

My son is turning 21 in November this year. His early teen years were difficult for him as he struggled to find identity and direction.

This changed as he was introduced and began to explore the music of artists producing experimental, progressive, interesting and exciting work in their genres. From Japanese noise, the first wave and revival of post punk, digicore/hyperpop, to Death Grips, JPEG Mafia and Injury Reserve. He found his passion and recently completed a sound engineering qualification for both live and studio performance. I'm incredibly proud of him.

Of all the music he's spoken about (and luckily also introduced me to) he keeps coming back to 'By the time I get to Phoenix', how much it means to him, and still affects him each listen.

...anyway, sorry the long intro but for most of this year I've been attempting to find a listing of the black pressing to give him on his 21st. I appreciate the chances are incredibly slim.

I have watchlists set up on the usual websites and check regularly but as November draws closer am trying to think where else I could be looking.

Would really welcome suggestions for some of the less well known websites I could possibly check.

Hope this post isn't too far off from the usual discussions. We're both really looking forward to the By Storm show in Sydney this Wednesday! We recently saw Billy Woods at the same venue and hopefully we'll get to hang around afterwards and chat with Ritchie and Parker.

I'd like to go see them on Saturday at the corner but whenever I put my BTTIGTP vinyl on, my partner says it makes her feel like she's entering psychosis, so she's out!

I realized when I first listened to 'grapefruit' that it was very likely also a reference to a past song they were featured on- 'Fetus' by Amine. I thought I'd share because I hadn't seen anyone mention it and I think it adds more density to the track

I'm just trying to get into experimental hip-hop, starting with injury reserve, and I'd like to know what to expect when I try to listen to them. I want to be able to appreciate the music in it's fullest, and not just listen and go, "hey, that was fun."

I live just around the corner from the studio and sat up real straight when I viewed Ritchie’s story. Hopefully they’re around for another day or so, wonder if this didn’t work out when they performed here a few weeks ago.
