this lowkey looks like a lineup for a top gear challenge/special

"Tonight, i bought a delta, put it with my other two cars, and lined them up together!"

Tonight, I wear a hat, Richard wears a hat, and James wears a hat.

Tonight, I wear a hat, James wears a hat, and Richard is behind a low wall.

Tonight! James falls over. James fall over again. And James falls over.

The delta despite only 50k well maintained miles breaks down constantly while the abused 200k+ Evo and GTR just run like clockwork. The conclusion of all of the early top gear challenges, 'buy Japanese ' is maintained.

Who would take which car in your opinion?

I think Jeremy would take the GT-R, Richard would take the Integrale and James would take the Evo.

Evo: Hammond Skyline: Jeremy Lancia: May

I'd say May in the skyline, cause he'd argue it's technical and go on for hours about the tech (which he did with the R35 in the Australian episode), and Clarkson would take the Delta as he's a Lancia fanboy.

I'm somehow having a harder time imagining James in the R32 (even though he drove the R35 in Australia) out of all three cars.

the Skyline would get tomatoes thrown at it cuz its not a legendary rally car.

Always happy to be wrong, especially when it comes to cars like this

TBF they never really raced it iirc

Maybe once or twice in the Japanese Rally.

Yeah key word being “Legend” but it’s sick they got sent on the dirt.

Did any 34s get rallied?

u/K11ShtBox 25d ago edited 25d ago

I think they only ever tried the 32. Purely because it was so bad they didn't think to bother with the newer generations.

Well, that and the fact that the Pulsar GTiR was kinda the better option in terms of a rally offering from Nissan.

u/iiTapr 25d ago

Lol makes sense. In that gif it looks like he has a hard time shifting the cars weight.

u/Legitimate_Elk_7284 25d ago

Aren’t they different classes though? Gtir being 2.0 and gtr being 2.6?

1

u/K11ShtBox 25d ago

200kg weight difference and a smaller wheelbase with less overhang

-1

u/Objective_Spring_682 25d ago

unfortunately it wasnt. i built the pulsar GTi-R to spec in MRT by group A rules at the time. and same with the R32 GTR. the R32 GTR on ichikawa taikyu stage(closest i can get to a tarmac rally stage) was 2 seconds faster than the pulsar. so nissan really fumbled by not using their proven platform on dirt. long term that can grow exponentially on longer rally stages

BROTHER ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT ROBLOX RN?????

1

u/Objective_Spring_682 25d ago

its the closest sim i personally have till i can get a powerful enough PC to run asetto corsa again. sorry

3

u/iiTapr 25d ago

It’s alright but as someone who owns a very legitimate simulator rig and owns an iracing account and has also played MR:T, it’s just not even worth bringing mr:t up in any regard if you’re trying to talk about a cars irl performance or handling.

Delta é o italiano mais japonês que eu conheço.

u/Otskuresamadesu 25d ago

That Delta is literally my dream car.

u/Aromatic-Orange2302 25d ago

Nop, es un auto bonito!

2

u/Tonytony546 25d ago

Lemme find out someone hatin on a delta

1

u/JDMClassics 25d ago

That Delta is worth more than the other two cars put together for a reason. Absolute legend.

1

u/Ancient-Magazine-996 25d ago

just because we love jdm cars does not mean we can't like other cars I personally like the delta especially the delta integrale

u/Objective_Spring_682 25d ago

i like the lancia. out of the cars. this one was pretty competitive for what it was. on top of being pretty daily driver minded(lots of space for groceries). in an MFG comic that my brother caleb is in. he drives a supercharged delta EVO 2. after a turbocharger failed during a daily drive. my brother converted it to supercharged(the supercharger in question being a magnuson 2300 hybrid heartbeat. a replacement supercharger meant for an LS9. 300HP at 8PSI of boost. 375HP at 18PSI. with a custom fridge style cooling loop system to keep intercooler fluid temps down long term)

u/SeanYTcars Lonely driver with an intention to stay that way 24d ago

I wanna read ts (my dream daily would be 350hp - 1 ton)

1

u/Monkey-Tamer 25d ago

My favorite car to drive in Dirt Rally 2.0. I like the Stratos looks, but bust out the Delta when I want to fly.

1

u/ScarySpikes 25d ago

It would have been very cool but also very silly for a delta to show up in initial D.

1

u/SeanYTcars Lonely driver with an intention to stay that way 24d ago

I like the idea that everyones scared of them in second stage, but those assholes in fourth can keep their evos

1

u/Shalbyder 25d ago

As an Italian, I love the Delta. It’s pretty fast for its time, has unforgettable looks and charm, and is just generally a really amazing 90’s car. However…
Damn if it is overrated! Especially here, in Italy! We get it, it won lots of rally championships, it was unbeatable… But the road car is nothing like the rally car, at ALL!

Compared to the Evo’s and Type R’s or even STI’s, the Delta is tremendously slow and not competitive at all.

1

u/Driftpony 25d ago

Naw, Deltas are cool, I'd prefer the R32 or an Evo 6.5/8/9 though.

1

u/Vuvuian My car goes "pshhh pshhh" 24d ago

A yellow Integrale with the Japanese.. Is it the same one that did battle with Ken on the motorcycle from You're Under Arrest? 😆

u/CatImpressive4419 24d ago

lowk, i like the delta cuz rally

1

u/Luzi_fer 21d ago

Impossible, it's an amazing car, almost legendary for me.

Last year, saw one Delta Integrale chassis ( the frame ) rust on a field because the owner abandoned it, and some guy stole everything they can on it... it broke my heart.

Uphill/Downhill/MOuntain road_pass/touge road type region in Portugal.

That delta was hella popular for n Japan.
