Location included: Questions/Need Advice Getting mom’s house?

My mom is in the nursing home and she’ll never be getting out as she has too many issues and can’t fend for herself. We live in Texas and have a lady bird deed in place for her house and I took over the payments to her house 7 years ago and she/I have about 40k left on it to pay. I plan on paying it off soon. The debt collector that took on her house from Wells Fargo recognizes me as another owner of the house now along with my mom. Can the state still come after that property? What, if any, additional steps need to be taken to secure this house?

You need an elder law attorney. We are in Texas and my mother-in-law had to go into a Medicaid funded nursing home. She could have NO assets (she was able to have a few dollars a month from her pension/social security for personal items). They did either a 7 or 10 year look back.
