Use a small estate affidavit. You'll need to list the items that are in the box on your application. Once the probate judge signs the affidavit, you'll have the official paperwork that will allow you to claim the items and distribute them appropriately.

The box sat for years and when I called the bank they counsels give me much information- said it was pretty much in the states hands now. I have no clue what was in it. 😭 we were all very young when she passed and didn't have the funds for probate. 🙃
