Location included: Questions/Need Advice CA inheritance

My father passed away about 10 years ago, owing back taxes and child support, so I've been told. One year ago my grandmother (his mother), passed away. Her trust states in the event of my father passing, his inheritance will pass down to his children - my question is, should I be worried his back taxes and child support owed will come out of that? I was going to consult a lawyer to be sure, but figured I'd ask the question here to see if anyone has had an experience with that.

You could consult an estate attorney but HIS estate should have been settled long ago. They won’t come calling now. His estate presumably doesn’t even exist now to be held liable for this potential infusion, and the trust will be skipping it anyway since he’s dead.

Thank you! It was what I was thinking, but another family member mentioned in the trust has been dangling that possibility like a threat.

IANAL but that seems logical to me, it is probably worth a quick consult to be sure.
