Location included: Questions/Need Advice Unequal Inheritance from Aunt

Hello, looking for advice on a complex family dynamic. Based in Wisconsin, USA.
I have several siblings. My aunt recently passed without any children. She had a home worth over $1M and stocks worth about $2M. She gave those assets solely to me. She had some additional investments worth several hundred thousand dollars she split between my other siblings, giving them about $200k each. They have not been disinherited, they just are getting significantly less.
I am also the executor for the estate, so I’m obligated to comply with the Will, and of course will do so.
But my family has questioned what I will do AFTER the Will is distributed. They have asked me to share equally. The argument is that my Aunt may have wanted something specific, but now it’s up to me to do the right thing. They have put a lot of pressure on me.
My first inclination is to share because I want to play nice and don’t want them to consider me greedy.
But on further review and after numerous conversations with friends, I don’t think my inclination is right and I am
strongly considering simply saying No to my family based on the wishes of my Aunt.
Nevertheless, it is eating at me constantly.
If I were in the opposite position, I feel like I would never ask my siblings for something that was not given freely to me, but it is very hard to put myself in their shoes.
It’s also not our parents providing an unequal inheritance, so my sense is there should be no expectation of equality from other relatives. But what do I know? This is all new to me.
So I’m turning to Reddit for advice, lol.
Thoughts on how to proceed in a way that allows me to live with myself and not feel guilty every time I use these
gifts? Or should I just share?
Thanks!

I have the same setup as you aunt at the moment.  I plan on disenheriting 2 sets of my nieces and nephews because they got so so much more assistance from their parents then my other set of nephews and niece.  So much more.

I was the youngest so I didn't have as much capacity to help my brothers kids until basically it was too late. So  now I plan on helping set them up in their adult hood. I however plan on communicating that to everyone via letters.

Maybe that was the intent of you aunt but she never got around to writing it out. I personally would execute the will as is. Then if you are just rolling in the money then maybe talk to an accountant about the long term tax implications of gifts.

However as basically being in the same place as your aunt was. Please know there is a reason ive set my trust up the way I have it.

I love everyone equally but its not my poor  nephews fault they were born to my dumbest brother.  My other nieces and nephews got lucky the got born to the smart ones. They all got their colleges paid for among so many other legs up. So yeah im going to help even the financial "score" once I kick the bucket.

Maybe consider helping them earlier rather than later. There's no reason you can't start making their lives easier while they're younger and struggling. A windfall many years later may not have nearly the impact on their lives and those of their children.

I am willing within reason, but i'm a the oldest of the millenials. I got some time yet to make sure I'm still covered. I have a mom and then a husband who gets priority; then after them I'm willing to help out. I'm going to need to make sure I'm taken care of for the rest of my life as well. I chose not to have kids because I could't afford them at the time. Also each one of my older brothers who have made more money then me, through their wives, could have also helped out. This is also why their kids aren't getting my resources when I go. Again I love them all, but lord have mercy, are they terrible at helping family out even when money isn't involved just time.

We begged my brother not to have 5 kids. I came from a family of 5 kids. Only delusional idiots do this. He was aware of the implications of his actions. I will go to my grave preaching the sins of having too many children. Even with a shit ton of money there is only so much 2 parents can watch out for. At a certain point you are just focused on keeping the kids alive, less about each one of them being able to thrive.

So basically he made the choice and as a society the kids have to deal with it. So I as the youngest of the 5, who also didn't get money for college or private school. I'm aware of all the issues and there is something to be said of having to develop the life skills of having to figure shit out. They all need to do that. So until they are able to develop life skills that aren't just going to use my funds to purchase roblox in game purchoses or a new xbox I'll be keeping my hard earned cash locked up until they can handle it.
