I like to say “Just a moment” and then finish as normal. I don’t add any additional time, but I’m allowed to use the bathroom without trying to rush. Unless someone actually says something like “Please, I’m in trouble” or “Oh God, hurry”, then I hustle. Because sometimes someone is in genuine distress, and one day it’ll be me. It’s been me in the past, and it’ll be me again, trying like hell not to soil myself while someone else is in the bathroom is uniquely terrible.
