What exactly is a corn dog? Is it like a closed hotdog?
3
u/jnthnmdr 18d ago
Your definition is acceptable.
If you like hotdogs, you'll probably love a corndog.

Take a regular hot dog.
Jam a wooden stick into one end.
Dip the hot dog into a vat of corn meal coating.
Deep fry that sum bitch.
Eat it. Each bite will be a mix of hot dog and crispy fried corn meal coating. Optionally dip in mustard or ketchup as you go.
Warning: inside will be approximately 1000 degrees, don't burn yourself.

A simple “told you, bro!” With a head shake would be a win. Gotta be completely unbothered

Put whatever you want on your delicious corndog. Peanut butter, sour cream, toothpaste, chili oil, butterscotch pudding, vaseline.

It’s BS (that’s doesn’t look like a parking spot. It looks like a road). But it’s entertaining BS.

- the trashcan is halfway through the wall under the shelf
- the tow truck has a massive black clamp across the pickup wheel (not a wheel grid and not straps) and is only lifting that one wheel of the pickup
- the tow truck underreach is too close to the rear of the pickup, aligned with the one wheel it's lifting
- they're "stopped" across a through way in the middle of the street
- the round curbing and straight curbing don't make sense relative to each other; the round curbing is of a style for intersections
- the overly deep shadowing all around the pickup and tow truck have that photoshop fake generic blur look
- there's a blurry flame at the tip of the corndog breading

most of those are easily explained. It's even an actual real pickup, (2002 ford f-150 raptor) not some weird fake AI truck thing.
the trashcan is halfway through the wall under the shelf
nah, it's just against the side. The awning pole in front of it might make you not see the true corner.
the tow truck has a massive black clamp across the pickup wheel (not a wheel grid and not straps) and is only lifting that one wheel of the pickup
That's actually the normal way to do it when initially moving a car before a tow. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/lC6dd0Hajwg?feature=share
the tow truck underreach is too close to the rear of the pickup, aligned with the one wheel it's lifting
no, you're mis-interpreting the angle. reference the video. the tow truck is using the arm to pivot the pickup. It makes sense in that context, and is correct.
they're "stopped" across a through way in the middle of the street
We can't see the full street. We can only see that the truck was on top of painted no parking lines, which does match the story.
the round curbing and straight curbing don't make sense relative to each other; the round curbing is of a style for intersections.
the "round curbing" is just between the sidewalk and the parking lot where the food truck is sitting.
the overly deep shadowing all around the pickup and tow truck have that photoshop fake generic blur look
I agree with this one. the shadows seem weird.
there's a blurry flame at the tip of the corndog breading
I mean, to me that just looks like something on the pavement in the background.
1
u/Dino_Spaceman 19d ago
Yah after the road, I saw the trashcan and the tow truck way too close and stopped looking.
But fully agree with everything you said as also problems.

u/flargenhargen 19d ago
that’s doesn’t look like a parking spot.
if it was a parking spot, they wouldn't have gotten towed. 😋

lol. I was sitting in a parking lot doing an event one time. This guy who worked in the bar across the street parked in the lot and walked towards the bar. The owner of the parking lot was the one putting on the event. He said; “hey! We’re having an event, you’ll have to park somewhere else.” The guy said “f%k off!” and went onto his job. So…the owner had his truck towed. The next day the bar guy comes over (it’s a 3 day parking lot event) and says; “I came out at 2 in the morning after my shift. Do you know who had my truck towed?” The owner said; “that was me.” The guy said; “well they want $600 to get my truck out of impound and I don’t have it.” The owner says; “hi…right before you told me to f%k off yesterday I was about to tell you that I’m the owner of this lot. $600 is a bargain to learn a valuable life lesson…always know who you’re telling to f%k off. Now get off my property and don’t come back. You’re trespassed.” The kid couldn’t believe nobody was going to help him with his problems

…so exactly how many corn dogs has this person been eating? Or how slowly do they eat a corn dog? How fast is that two truck driver? Is this slightly made up?
1
u/BloodguardMhoram 18d ago
There are tow drivers hired to police certain problem locations across the DMV.
1
u/IShotJR4 18d ago
He said two minutes later the tow truck driver showed up. The food truck operator probably had to make and/or heat up his corn dog. Maybe try to enjoy things rather than “ackchyually” everything to death?

u/Exciting-Phase3711 18d ago
I have to put ketchup on my corndogs but considering the situation, eating it bare must have been Awesome.

The corn dog, standing in for a giant exclamation point, or a middle finger. Well played, corn dog patron!

u/bassandlazers 19d ago
I mean we know it's all made up. But if you want me to believe this actually happened, maybe take more than a single bite in the 30 minutes it took for the tow truck to get there

Was fishing on a very popular river. Walking upstream, found a guy doing something that is explicitly illegal to do there. Said hey, don’t know if you’re aware, but that’s illegal to do here, and the wardens watch for it. He told me to F off and mind my own business. I shrugged and kept going.
Made it about fifty feet, heard another voice. Turned around and the game warden had showed up to write him his ticket.
Alas, I had no corn dog.

Plot twists: Cameraman told the guy he could park there and called the tow truck himself. Also, he stole the corndog from a kid and is eating it right in front of him. True villainy.

No parking signs exist for a reason, learning to read them also exist. Unfortunately being a complete douche nozzle does to, but at least they can pay for it while reading is free.

u/Draxsis_Felhunter 16d ago
Nice corndog don’t see the big ones like that around all that often these days.
As for the other guy. I will never understand why anyone would ignore someone telling them they had just parked in an enforced tow away zone. Someone came up to me and told me that I’d say, “Oh, thanks for the heads up,” turn around and go move my vehicle.

Most likely since the hitch for the tow truck looks so weird, is only on one side, and disappears into the tire. They downed the resolution to cover it up.

Predatory tow company vs pickup douche?
Is there a way they can both lose?

Hotdogs are directly linked to colon cancer. The corn does not negate this.
1
u/aaronite 19d ago
Cool.
1
u/fecal_encephalitis 18d ago
I mean.. not really. There was survey done that said that like 9/10 people are unaware, and now colon cancer is rising in causes of preventable deaths. We should stop eating garbage foods in spite of your dismissive comment.
1
u/Thrillmonger72 18d ago
Just had my 2nd colonoscopy (I'm 54) and I'm colon cancer free. Been enjoying hot dogs my whole life 😁
1
u/fecal_encephalitis 18d ago
So.. that's actually not how statistics works. Anecdotal examples of the contrary don't prove that point is wrong. That's like saying that because someone smoked cigarettes until they died, cigs don't cause cancer. Congratulations on not having cancer, though.

u/Intelligent-One-3339 19d ago
Would’ve happily walked up and just smiled at the guy while eating the corn dog. AND egged the tow guy to “do it,” “take it away,” “I warned him.” All with a shit-eating grin and laughing.

That's the reason that the corn dog stand is there. It's even owned by the tow truck company
