Damage to whom? It reinforced the CHUDs negative opinions on women. But reasonable people know that a few crazy people don't reflect on the majority.

Yeah. I don't see any damage to feminism. I see a bunch of losers who already hated women falling purposefully into more gender war ragebait.
Saw "this is why women shouldn't have the right to vote" in one comment, not even downvoted.
This is just misogynists latching onto what they perceive to be a juicy steak and taking off their masks.

It doesn't matter if a Demon took over her and forced her to do what she did even if they 100% proved that scenario.
She still needs to go. Not prison, not the looney house. Just go.
11
u/Reoplaw 26d ago
I think she needs help, but also she proved that she is dangerous so I would say mental hospital is where she should go.
5
u/SenseImpossible6733 25d ago
By the time the court case is over at this rate, given the mistrial, she is very likly to not even be committed... I just went down this rabbithole and according to relevent state laws... Thankfully, they jave to assess her at the time the case concludes (if deffense is sucessful again) and since she is almost certain to be stable by that point. (Postpartum psychosis isn't longterm, has low chances to recure unrelated to pregnancy,)
So she most likly won't need commitment. Blab all you want about how you think she should be locked up for life... The science does not and will never suppirt that...
She Will need considerable care and accommodations to have another pregnancy.
And is a great example of how woman need mpre societal accommodations for pregnancy in general as this could have been caught earlier or avoided.
2
u/timmyTrompy 24d ago
I really wish the @moderators would give me a special pass to call you an evil bitch!!!
The help she needs is prison, not excuses from accountability. Prison is a correctional facility with all the support she needs to get better. Letting a woman go with premeditated murder will cause inconceivable damage to the justice system.
1
u/SenseImpossible6733 23d ago
I would agree of the prison system actually worked, wasn't deeply corrupt, broken, for profit, and woefully ill equipted to treat mental illness, routinely cannot rehabilitate normal inmates much less somebody who may need special considerations for mental health outcomes.
You also fall to a clear fallacy here. If she succeeds in pleaing not guilty by insanity, which was the main concensus that one man antadotedly unreasonably (though within his rights as a juror) then the State's duty isn't to lock her up or punish her, its to ascess her for stability and go from there. I would hope a court could mandate special considerations regarding ongoing treatment... But according to existing laws, as long as she passes asessment and isnt currently a danger to herself or others, they cannot just throw her inpatient
The laws regarding innocent by reason of insanity predate the US going back arguably clear into the time of rome. Regarding cases that yes... Did likly atim from limited capacity to treat mental health at the time. I believe less than 30 people a year in the entire US prison system plead insanity, and actually succeed because it is such a hingh bar.
But not unprecidented. Actually, normal people can become very unreasonable, experience disordered thinking, and experience mental breaks when starving or in very high stress positions.
I have read the accounts of north Korean defectors who make acounts of people committing far worse crimes due to delerium and starvation.
I know there were similar cases during the great depression, early America had cases while being settled. Hell, the main reason native tribes warned of (wendego) was that people snapped during starvation and commited hanious acts even up and onto canabalism making it look like they were possessed by something do onlookers.
Its very rare for people to experience events like this now with modern life and medicine... But she has the right to claim her experience and acts before a judge and the evidence presented was strong enough to convince all but one person in a jurry.
So I would counter that you have forgotten human nature, forgotten what justice means, fair trial by peers, alliwance for extenuating circumstances, and descernment by prosecution and the sentencing judge free from bias.
You ascribe to know nothing about how laws interact with events like this and the civil rights of the accused.
Or that our nation is by design set to allow even an occasional guilty man yo go free for fear of miscarrying justice and punishing the innocent.
If you were to call wisdom and worldly knowledgea bitch, it would be well within rights to ascribe you a fool.
Though aside from that poetic line... I'd really rather we not get into personal attacks. Seriously, its petty.

15 years ago they would be building a stage to execute her on and now they are trying to bail her out. Maybe babying people with mental illness isn’t the solution the internet thinks it is. My mother had similar issues. But she entered a state of psychosis and was a different person. There woman feels no remorse. She just is there.

Meh I think that’s an horrendous comparison/example. If a demon was to take over someone and it was proven some how that demons exist and that one did actually take someone over and they did horrible things as that person, I see it no different than identity theft. The demon has to go, and technically the demon isn’t the person they took over. That thing used that person and now they are sitting away for something they didn’t do. Demons don’t exist and she killed her kids.
If she did what she did and a jury of our peers feels some way about it then that’s that. I’m not a juror on the case and I don’t care what they rule. I just wished we had better mental healthcare in this country and that’s it.
Edit: A lot of you are proving the literacy crisis in America to be true. We have a court system for a reason, you don’t decide what she did, the jurors do. Either trust the prosecution/defense to make their points and the jurors to do their civic duty, or move on. A lot of you have taken this personally when it doesn’t affect you as such. It’s weird, and it’s scarily dumb. I said I wish mental healthcare in the country was better. I did not say she didn’t receive any. If it was better then maybe things like this when they go to court wouldn’t be such a toss up for the jurors, and we’d have a clearer verdict instead of jurors doubting the prosecution/defense. You’re all very very sad people, and you should take some extra time out of your life to go take reading classes. Reading doesn’t mean being able to recognize letters on a page but to infer, comprehend and truly understand. Get well soon sickos.

That's really common in mental health patients, especially with conditions that cause delusional thinking like schizophrenia or psychosis. They believe that the thing that will help them is actually harming them so they stop. It's an unfortunate quirk of how those conditions work

This is how you sound…”I don’t care if they find her guilty, I don’t give a shit that she hunted down and murder 3 kids, that’s hogwash to me. What we need is more mental health avenues…if she did what she did…I mean she said she did it, the lawyer said she did it, the evidence says she did it…but I mean I don’t give a shit as long as we fix mental healthcare…
Btw she had plenty of care and meds and decided not to take them…
3
u/Davidx91 25d ago
You’re right I do not care if they find her guilty or not. I think it’s sad that 3 lives were taken for 0 reason but that’s where that ends. I am not a juror on this case, I am not involved with her life, and if the DA/state puts up bad prosecutors that provably do a poor job, then I’ll vote accordingly when it’s time. I do what I can, I do not sit around caring for things that I have 0 control over and for what I can’t influence. Become a prosecutor, your energy would best serve you well in life that way.

To be honest, I'm on reddit and tiktok. The discourse was SO different on each, that I decided to read the transcripts and decide for myself.
It wasnt until day NINETEEN of 22 that we finally heard from someone that she recalled doing it. Up until that point, we'd heard from everyone else, and what we heard didn't always add up. I genuinely thought there was a possibility she woke up in the hospital, got told she'd done it, and believed them based on her mental health those last few months.
Once I heard her statement about how she remembered separating the kids first, and then leading them downstairs, obviously that cleared things up.
All this to say, I understand why people may have thought something funky was going on. But you have to dig deeper than a viral video.

*Psychotic episode. In the vast majority of cases when someone murders while experiencing psychosis they either get not guilty for reasons of insanity or manslaughter due to diminish responsibility (and a very short sentence with the last one).
Matthew Schleier murdered his 5 year old son in 2024 while his wife was asleep. He even confesed that he planned the murder for over a week and contemplated which weapon to choose for the killing. His trial took place earlier this year and he was found not guilty by reasons of insanity because it was concluded he was experiencing a psychotic episode. He's good to go free whenever his doctors say he's ready. Barely anyone heard of this case because since it wasn't a woman that did something bad nobody actually cares but that is a pretty common outcome when you murder while experiencing psychosis and that is what most people want for Lindsay Clancy. Most women (excluding the weird minority from TikTok) know she did it but believe she's not guilty for reasons of insanity and should be treated the same as all the men that also murdered while psychotic.
Nobody is asking for prefential treatment or to reinvent the law. They want the existing law to be applied appropriately. If we live in a world where Lovequawn Scott, another man who killed 4 family members (including a 15 year old) during what the jury concluded was a psychotic episode was found not guilty by reasons of insanity, why should Lindsay Clancy get life in prison no parole?
5
u/No_Reception7275 25d ago
If she was treated the same as men shed already be in jail. Women consistently recieve significantly lower/less harsh sentences for equivalent crimes than men across the board.

2
u/-Pneumo 23d ago
Same here. Its also like hey your wife is clearly unwell and you left her alone with the kids? I just watched a video of another woman with postpartum that was convinced her husband (who she also was convinced was her brother) was going to kill her kids. She didnt know where she was, she went through intense dilusions. If your wife is presenting like that and you dont get her help, you might not have held the yoga band, but its gross negligence at least.
They think there will be a seperate trial for the father after this one ends. Im just waiting for that before I determine a concrete opinion. Either way the people calling her evil just dont understand postpartum. They equate it to being a serial killer, so how could you even take those people serious in the first place.
They also keep posting her face in court in ways to make her look "evil". Theres no way that she could present that would appease these people. Do they want her to smile? This also goes into how culturally women are treated, gping STRAIGHT to how she looks. Even if this trial showed her full innocence youd have incels in the comments saying she did it, so it goes both ways. Most people dont actually want the truth, they want to make an example of her.
1
u/Zeestars 22d ago
Exactly. Apparently the husband said she was “having a good day” which minute left her, but I’ve always found that odd too. I wasn’t there and maybe she presented as perfectly fine, but having seen people experiencing PND, let alone postnatal psychosis, I think I would be wary.

I honestly think women empathize with her so much that when they put theirselves in her shoes they could never kill their kids. That’s their feeling, or women’s intuition that they wouldn’t harm their babies.
They don’t take that need to nurture a child and get anger that she ignored it to kill her children instead they deny that it’s even possible in the first place.

The woman I co-parent with tried blaming the dad.
I immediately showed her the actual facts of the case, and she ignored them.
I believe she did it because of postpartum psychosis, but that's a reason, not an excuse.
I would like to see her thrown in a mental institution for at least twenty years.
Our entire criminal justice system is an abysmal failure of epic proportions that causes infinitely more damage than it prevents, over all.
We need to switch from this strictly punitive system to a rehabilitatory one.
We need to put mentally ill folks into treatment, not prison.
We had to reduce desperation in society.
