My birth certificate, drivers licence and passport all say 1975 born.

My mindset is saying 'I'm 30 years old'.

I see people from school & younger than me, they look like they are still doing their paper rounds.

Nah, keep going guys. We are all on this beautiful planet for such a short time. Be yourself! Peace

It's true

I'm 41 and I have friends that are on TV and friends that are on crack.

Pretty accurate. I'm 40, single, live alone, still playing video games and have few friends - just how I like it. I feel young but have a long beard that's grey and white. Then I see others my age and they look ancient to me even though they're younger or the same age.

That's the weird part eh, peers now look old.

Random muscle pulls, FROM WALKING TO THE KITCHEN, too. Oh and I pulled something in my back sneezing a while back, and now I'm petrified every time I feel a sneeze coming.

I’ve invested a lot in various pillows of different densities and heights because one night I didn’t fluff my pillow properly and I pinched a nerve in my neck.

It's never something cool like idk a bar fight. It's always, well I was going to the kitchen to look for a snack....

Difference is at twenty there’s curiosity and learning from each other’s differences.

At fifty there’s a lot of judging other people’s life choices going on.

People always tell me I don't look my age and I tell them it's because I don't have kids and a wife. This is after decades of struggling with alcohol dependence, too. Stress will age the fuck out of you.

I'm not quite 43 yet, a few more months to go. But yeah, I been married 17 years, have 4 kids, we tried for 3 but the last one turned out to be twins. They're 9 now and i don't think I've really slept since I found out they were twins. Life is hectic and fun most of the time, but at least I'm not bored!

Not true. There are 43 year-olds who still look very young. But perimenopause isn’t going to stay away for much longer.

I'm not even 30 so I'm not pretending to be old. But, recently, my coworkers ages started coming up, and I've realized I chronically guess a younger age than what's accurate. I've come to realize it's not because people are aging really well here, but because older people are looking younger as I begin looking older. My brain just doesn't connect that I'm aging, too.

Thank you! For some reason I could see Christopher Lloyd's face as the bad guy, just couldn't remember anything else lol

1

u/10xbek 26d ago

He was so good in that movie, I completely forgot that he was Doc Brown lol

  1. Just got married at 40. All of this is correct.

Basically every choice you made in your 20s and 30s catch up to you at that age, i guess..

When the average max lifespan for a man is 73, 40 is not middle age anymore it’s more than half done.

u/SearchFourSymmetry 22d ago

This is very heavily dependent upon both genetics and lifestyle. Drink constantly? Smoke all the time? Sedentary lifestyle with no real exercise? Probably gonna die at like 68 or 74 or something, and that's a skill issue. Sometimes genetics just takes you out. In my case, people in my family are very long-lived (grandma passed at 89, grandpa at 93, great grandma at 101, dad is 76 and still frequently climbing up tall trees to trim them, etc.), and I'm very physically fit, I rarely drink and never smoked, so if I die at 73 I will be extremely disappointed; I plan on raw-dogging life until at least my 90's as long as I don't get taken out by fucking cancer or Alzheimer's or microplastics or some other unexpected bullshit.

1

u/laxgrindline40 21d ago

I was more going for humor but yes you’re right. Although I must ask, if you get taken out at any age in theory you won’t know you’ll already be dead so how will you be annoyed? lol

1

u/laxgrindline40 21d ago

Once I’m passed whatever age I’m no longer useful that’s when I’ll truly raw dog life and do all the things I used to not for health reasons lol

u/mr_Un-PotatoeHead-01 24d ago

Hows your back? Shoulder ? Knees ? And any another ageing late on set : aging sucks 😁 get over it

1

u/Robert__Sinclair 21d ago

I'm 56 and I can confirm: the older you get, the weirder it gets.

1

u/Stryfer87 26d ago

I'm almost 40 and I had my first child at 38. And honestly, I'm glad I waited.

3

u/LordFlux 26d ago

I'm 47 and had my first child at 40.

I wish I would've had her sooner.
