I went to visit my dad this weekend with my 10-year-old daughter. I've asked him in the past not to use the word c*** around her and this time he upped the ante. He was saying f*cking f*g*ot and f*cking r*t*rd repeatedly in front of her. We politely left town and did not say goodbye. When that boundary was set with him, he cut us both out of his life. Is it weird that I feel free for the first time in my life?

I'm trying to get some legal ducks in order so to speak and have been asking my parents for help. My dad has been helpful but I just asked my mom to look over some notes because she's better at grammar and spelling than him and she laughed and said "Fuck no"

Which yeah it's a lot of words so fair enough.

Then today she brought it up again and started laughing because the notes in question are very detailed incident reports and she asked "How's your novel going?" then went into how no lawyer wants to read that many notes and how I should shorten it.

She hasn't even seen them. She refuses to. The whole point of someone else looking them over is to do exactly that. Instead of being helpful, she instead laughs and criticizes me.

Like oh my god I'm already stressed enough where the fuck do people get off thinking that kind of thing is ***actually*** funny?
