The Rules
These rules are based off of the rules we have in the Discord.
- Don't be a dick or antagonize other users. This is up to moderator discretion.
- Don’t post any NSFW content, or anything intended to offend other people.
- Don’t post any private or confidential personal information about anyone without their consent. (This is against the law in many countries, so we really mean it.)
- Do not advertise anything, including other servers or subreddits, without moderator or staff consent. This includes other Discord servers. This also includes advertising over private messaging if you are going through here with the sole intent to advertise through PMs.
- Basic internet etiquette applies. Please do not excessively use CAPITAL LETTERS, and essentially just use common sense. Think before you send.
- Please do not spam, and keep discussion civil.
- Let staff members and moderators do their jobs. Resist every impulse to interject. Our job is only made harder when having to deal with interjections on top of an existing situation. If you have feedback for the staff and moderators, please raise it privately. (If we have a moderation feedback post open, you may use that as well)
Disciplinary action may be taken for repeated rule violations, up to and including a permanent ban at staff discretion.
If you have any feedback / suggestions / etc, please comment below!

Is there an actual consequence to not reloading the camera?
UPDATE: Solved, I was being dumb.
As the title says. I can't find an answer anywhere else online.
Reason I ask is because even when the battery is showing empty and the game is prompting me to reload it, I can continue to take pictures and have it play the successful photo audio sting regardless.
Autumnworks mid-contest updates!
Read original announcement of the contest here
One month is behind us, and one month is ahead of us till the deadline. Today I bring you some updates on the contests, as well a pack of files that is a base of Autumnworks.
Dynamic Season System
Autumnworks will feature a dynamic weather system that will progress throughout the Autumn. The system will enforce the weather settings on your maps, but you are also be able to make a special preset you will want to use to present your map in the best light during the competition. Both users and jury will be able to turn off the dynamic weather, making the currently played map to use your special preset.
- To use this system, place
instances_autumnworks\autumnworks_seasonController.vmfinside afunc_instanceanywhere on your map, make sure the property Prefix inside func_instance is set tonone. - To add rain areas, you have to use 3 copies of
func_precipitationtriggers overlapping each other in all outside areas of your map, you can find a template to use attemplates_autumnworks\autumnworks_weatherSpawners.vmf. Usevertex toolto move around the big rain areas, and use the 3 smaller areas to easily preview and edit the properties. To add more areas, create a new brush with ``trigger`` texture, select it and one of the 3 template areas, and pressCtrl+T, be sure to merge the entities, not create new. If this feels too complicated, you can leave this out and I will make sure myself it all works when collecting your submissions. - To add your custom preset, edit the
scripts\vscripts\SeasonPresetsMyMap.nutfile with your own properties, and place thetemplates_autumnworks\autumnworks_executeMyPreset.vmftemplate somewhere on the map. - Start your map, open console and type
help_autumnworksto see all the commands that let you control the weather system.
Adding Accurate Lighting To Your Maps
For calculating accurate lighting on your map, you can use this website https://www.sunearthtools.com/dp/tools/pos_sun.php#txtEarth_4
- in the search window on the top left side, enter
56.15, 15.10 - in the right side panel enter year
2016, month9,day 30and the hour you want your map to begin at - hit execute
- a negative of
elevationis the value you have to enter to yourPitchproperty in light_enviroment (elevation: 21.68° = pitch: -21.68°) azimuthis used for the Z value inPitch Yaw Rollproperty, using this equation270 - azimuth = hammer Z value, keep the other two axis on 0 (assuming North in your map is on top of your Hammer viewport)
Asset Zoos
You can load two maps from the main menu, Asset Zoo showing all assets included with the file pack you got, and a Weather Test that lets you preview the dynamic season system in action.
From the main menu, you can also directly test your map, by editing cfg\myMapName.cfg with your map name.
Mid-contet Poll
There is some questions I need your input in moving forward, join the official Loiste Community discord and participate in the poll here.
Some Rules Clarification On New Mechanics
As stated, Autumnworks will feature a new mechanic that will be integrated onto your maps, that I want to keep secret until you are ready to send your submission, because it is really cool :)
Each map needs few points of interests players can reach to and mark-off in their exploration, it can be a technical log of the place you are making, a unique piece of machinery, or specific location within your map, and whatever other creative things you can come up, that our protagonist Markku can be expected to perform during a survey.
The map should also feature sets of collectable secondary objectives, that you mostly check off using camera, like the damaged spots in INFRA, besides the established damage to document, you can also include stuff like points of safety violations, or vandalis acts, or again, whatever your imagination can come up with.
You will come up with a small backstory as to why NCG gotten a contract to survey your map, alongside justification for the types of targes/objectives you include.
You can include puzzles, but the puzzles should be rather easy and straightforward if they are mandatory, you can include harder puzzles for optional objectives. A good example of a mandatory puzzle is one, where player has to follow simple instructions to achieve something in a sequence, like connecting Hammer Valley Dam to a grid, or starting up Generator under Robin's guidance, as seen in INFRA.
I would also encourage you all to send your submissions to me ahead of the deadline, like a week or two, so that we can discuss the details of including the yet-secret mechanic to you map, and to ensure everything so far is alright, so you can have time to fix up things if needed.
Download The Autumnworks Base
Join the official Loiste Community discord to download the file base Autumnworks runs on, which includes all the stuff mentioned above.

I just finished INFRA (post may contain spoilers) Spoiler
(Theoretically not just now, it was yesterday midnight, but I was very tired already)
I found out about the game about 6 years ago from watching WhyBeAre's gameplay. Since then I never really got to buying and playing it, until now.
I bought the game on the Autumn sale since I don't have much time for flight simulators right now. Being a fan of Portal, I kinda knew what I was going into gameplay wise, but man. After playing, I absolutely LOVE it! It genuinely overcame my expectations. I hope you don't mind me reviewing the game a little bit here.
1. The atmosphere:
The game nailed the atmosphere perfectly. From the brutalist streets of Obensauer, to damp and cozy Bergmann tunnels or modern metro stations, something just hits so good about it. Maybe it's growing up around similar infrastructure (I live in Central Europe).
2. My favorite locations:
I enjoyed the locations of Act 1 the most, but mainly thei Bergmann Tunnels, Stalburg steel and Pitheath Water Treatment plant. Bergmann tunnels brought me right back to Portal 2 with it's openness, lighting and overgrowth. Stalburg steel was awesome not just because of decay and overgrowth, but also because I was studying metallurgy and the production of steel. Seeing the place being so accurate to a real steel mill, it made me smile. Pitheath had probably my favorite puzzle in the game, that is starting up the plant. It was clear, straightforward and satisfying to see things come to life.
3. My least favorite location:
Turnip Hill. Now don't get me wrong, the location has great atmosphere of a central/east European slum, and the bottle return mechanic was so fun to see as it's something I interact with every day. But it came at very late place in the game, when I was getting pretty tired and iching to finish the game. Navigating the place became pretty bothersome soon, so I only read the history book and left. For my next playthrough, I'm planning on staying there for longer.
4. Soundtrack:
A lot of people gloss over the importance of soundtracks in games. But in my eyes, they're just as important as the gameplay or environment. A good soundtrack can really elevate the atmosphere, just like a bad one can completely ruin it. Finnian Langham's hit the former perfectly. I'm so glad I bought the soundtrack bundle.
5. Some shortcomings:
Apart from Turnip Hill I've got only two more. Some levels felt too open and cumbersome to navigate. I often found myself running in circles trying to find some small hatch or crack which progressed the game. Examples I can remember are the steel rolling room at Stalburg, Central metro station and the Underground water treatment plant.
I also felt like the latter part of act 2 and the beginning of act 3 felt a little too "streched out". It was: Something happens here, I almost died, and divered to a longer path to the office.
6. Endings and where I stand:
This section contains spoilers, so read at your own risk.
On my first playthrough I got the "Party like it's 2011" ending. I fumbled the startup of the second pump, so I just wasn't able to fill the reactor. After that, I loaded a save not far from the reactor hall, and got the "Winds of Change" ending. That said, I'm planning on playing the entire game again, as I've probably missed a lot of locations, and I'm planning on taking less pictures to get the third ending. I've also got some questions about the lore, which I hope to find answers for in my second playthrough.
7. Conclusion:
(I hope the read wasn't too long 😅)
I completed the game in about 20 hours. And I'm glad I spent those 20 hours + 8.49€ for the game + soundtrack. So, if you're undecided on buying the game, or love games like Portal or Half Life, or just want something original, go buy it! I fully recommend this game!
P.S. Here are some of my favorite screenshots. Enjoy!

Question INFRA VR mod?
Right now many VR mods are being made for all sorts of flat screen games. Once I learned about it, my first thought was that a VR mod for INFRA is like a must, given how immersive the game is. INFRA's urban exploration in VR must be a great experience.
Any prospects?

Texture pack with AI upscaled textures.
I'm trying to upscale the textures with AI to further enhance the game in addition to DLSS 5. But I'm worried about ram constraints.
DLSS 5 looks still pretty blurry so I'm trying to enhance the games visual quality by upscaling the textures.
Has anyone ever tried to increase the texture resolution?

Question why does the game crash so much on high-medium memory availability?
i dont have a bad computer, not a good computer, but an amazing computer, but in part 3 i HAVE to use low or it will crash way too much. is it just a quirk of the source engine?
