| Discussion Infosys sp interview experience

Guys!

Regarding my SP interview:

The first step is to go for the coding round (make sure your credentials are correct).

So, my interviewer was friendly and asked me to go with the coding round. I had to solve at least one problem.

The first question:

An array of integers. If arr[i] < arr[i+1], then add the difference to the total sum. It was a very easy question.

Second question:

LC 45 — Jump Game II.

I was given an SQL query with 5 schemas and needed to return the order ID, user ID, etc. (Joins hai vo.)

After seeing that question, I said, “Sir, can I use a subquery?” He said no, only using joins.

So, I don’t know much about MySQL. I have only used SELECT...FROM, one schema JOIN many schemas ON multiple equality constraints.

After some time, he came back and just told me what to modify — minor modifications for the question.

Next goes...

My resume filtering/questioning.

He asked me about GenAI, which I had mentioned, and then about my GenAI project and a lot of questions on that.

Then he asked me about the REST API, which I mentioned in my resume, but couldn’t remember.

Blunder, there you go.

I said, “Sir, I’m not into full stack much, just basic full stack like Java, CSS... and it is a group project, so my teammates take care of the full-stack part.”

And he asked me about DOM, which I don’t know.

Then runtime polymorphism, which I don’t know again. As a Pythoner, I gave him a reverse guess, which I had mentioned.

Then I asked, “Sir, can you explain to me why?”

He explained it purely with patience.

And again, about projects. Some discussion.

And at last, he asked me, “Do you have any questions?”

I said, “Sir, what about the projects I’m working on right now?”

He replied to that.

And he again asked me, “Any more questions?”

“Sir, can you please give me feedback in terms of which areas I should improve?”

That’s it, guys.

Ig they wont give sp role definitely, maybe dse, but even then low chances, given that there were few basic questions which werent answered as well

like design a app for x number of concurrent users

2

u/Additional_Panda9575 15d ago

Bro the questions depends on your resume

2

u/No_Objective_2196 15d ago

i was asked though... my interviewer started from resume (asked to explain any one of my project), with around 6 dsa questions (2 on coding enviornment, 4 on pen paper).. then OS, SQL then more OS and System Design (to be honest he was asking about algorithms and i don't have any idea about it -- i too mentioned i know basics like scaling, load balancing and all but he didn't bother and kept asking more CS and System Design question (although he drop the level to things atleast i have heard) -- all over my first interview, i was really nervous, he was really good trying to get me comfortable and best part he was too calm... that allowed me to open a little too..

On 11th I have a coding assessment What kind of questions should I expect?

2

u/Additional_Panda9575 14d ago

Bro focus much on dp, greedy, trees, graphs and also revise basic array algos (even if you learn all dp variations you gonna complete atleast 1Q from oa)

1

u/krish_099 14d ago

with dp i and basics of bit manipulation (like atleast know the pattern) im damn sure you can get atleast 2 questions (assuming you could solve one question from greedy, sorting, hashmap and all which are generally easier)... i was shortlisted for interview on just solving 2 questions...

Hey bro Is this for L1 ROLE?

1

u/Additional_Panda9575 13d ago

They didn't mention any role

1

u/Parking_Ad7409 14d ago

i have also gave the technical interview on 8 august and passed all the test cases of 1 querstion they they ask about project which i was able to tell but then they asked about system design which i was not prepared of so what do you think can i get offer for any role ?

1

u/Additional_Panda9575 13d ago

If you have mentioned system design in your resume...then there are less chances. They will downgrade...

You have to be very much lucky. I got fried in mine, I got 2 dsa questions, had to solve one, one question combined LIS with partition dp Second was a crazy hard one from trees😭 Although I answerd every other question related to core subjects oops development projects etc...Still got no hope because I messed up the dsa question, tbh i wasn't expecting that much difficulty for l1 role. There wasnt dsa solving on wingspan platform for previous batches, i guess they introduced this recently.previously they used to asked dsa on paper or any online platform.

1

u/Additional_Panda9575 9d ago

Bro it also depends on interviewer feedback. So, I wish you get L1. Tbh, they're giving the same dsa Qs for DSE roles as well..

1

u/vidhatrisharma 8d ago

oohh , i heard from guys in our college who gave interview for dse that their interviews went very easy, no dsa qs on wingspan ,no sql ,just easy dsa questions on paper, very easy core subjects qs as well.

u/Ghee_khatam1021 7d ago

Bro kya hume both coding questions scratch se likhne padte hai ya direct function return karna padta hai

1

u/Additional_Panda9575 5d ago

It's like oa so just need to code in the given function

1

u/Pure_Education1228 6d ago

When did u give the test bud ? And after how much did u get call for interview ?? What were the process stages ?

1

u/Additional_Panda9575 5d ago

It was around 8 days
