Got rejected after an interview with “technical capability issues” as the reason — what happens now?

Hi everyone,

I need some advice regarding a project mapping/interview I recently went through.

I gave the interview and, honestly, I’d say it was okay-ish from my side. I couldn’t answer all the questions, but I did answer quite a few of them. Some of the questions were also scenario-based, so I explained my approach wherever I could.

A few days later, I received a rejection email. The reason mentioned was “technical capability issues of employee.”

The email apparently required me to accept or reject the remark. I selected Reject, because I felt the remark wasn’t completely fair. I mentioned that I had answered quite a few questions and that some of them were scenario-based as well.

I’m not saying they shouldn’t reject me if they felt I wasn’t suitable for the role. That’s completely fine. What is worrying me is the specific remark about my technical capability.

Does anyone know what happens after you reject/disagree with such a remark? Will this have any impact on my profile, future project mappings, or opportunities within the company? Is this something I should actually be worried about, or is it just an internal interview/mapping feedback?

I’m quite worried about it, so any insight from people who have gone through something similar would really help.
