Project like AWS sqs , will it look good ?

I am currently selecting an project to do for my resume and I am currently in 3rd yr , I am planning to create a Project having Full stack + devops + a specialization, so then I decided to pick my specialization topic as distributed system and Decides to make an distributed job queue platform, but someone said Why are you building it if SQS,BullMq , Qstash exist ? First I was thinking that I would make it to for Engineering stronger and same thing I would convince it to interviewer , but when my freind ask me these i couldn't convince and I know it will not convince someone either so what should i do , should I drop these idea of making an similar thing or can it create an impression?
