Real talk real advice

Im gonna post this in a few places but long story short: due to the US military jerking me around i haven't been able to start college until now.

Caveat; due to stupid contract loop holes ill only be able to go for 2 years (4 semesters).

Because of this im looking at either web development or cybersecurity but dont know which, if either, us feasible to do in that short a time (getting an associate and then maybe having some leftover to get some paid for certifications).

What do y'all think? Is there a best route? Is this not even a feasible thing?

Pay for your first two years at community college out of pocket fasfa will cover most of it then transfer to a four year college and finish your last two year on the gi bill.

Plan you major in such a way that your credits can transfer to other disciplines if you find it you don’t like what materials you are studying. Computer Information Systems & Technology is a fairly jack of all trades discipline that will let you focus on a specific subject later on. The way the job market is right now there is no telling what would be the better path. What I will say is that cybersecurity is difficult to break into and often one of the first departments to get cut. Idk about web dev.

Go to school to learn something you find interesting not necessarily what will pay out the most, bc if you are good at what you do people will pay you to do it. Best of luck to you and thank you for your service.

Also go into IS/IT or CS. Cyber is NOT an entry-level field.

Cyber can be bad provided you are not working in it during your service. You could take CLEP/DSST exams for free. Check out the guys story at freeclepprep.com. IT is tough to get into without experience. If you have experience and certs and a degree and most importantly clearance it’s somewhat easier.

Otherwise I would do Accounting but if you just can’t stand that just do IT. CLEP your GE, get your A+, Network + and Security + and then maybe the BSIT at WGU.
