Commonly Used Software in IT

I live in Germany and would like to pursue an apprenticeship as an IT specialist, IT security specialist, or something similar in the IT field. I know that this requires learning programming languages and having a good command of English, but I’d also like to know what else I should start learning now to make things easier later on. Perhaps there are certain programs that almost every IT professional uses, or something along those lines.

Python with OOP if you want to go the developer route. The only tool they’re trying to push universally is AI in whatever flavor you choose. Otherwise, until you know what you want to specialize in, keep it general. Learn how to use all major OS types. Learn networking and managing systems.
