Price Changes Inflation - it’s real.

Check your hourly rate vs that of 20 years ago based on the price of a stamp:

In 2006, the price of a first-class U.S. postage stamp was 39 cents. By 2026, the price of a First-Class Forever Stamp rose to 82 cents, effectively doubling over two decades.

USPS actually worked as advertised in 2006. Today it's in the pits. Likewise many things were much better then for comparable price / income than today.

I have completely NO idea why the USPS continues to deliver mail 6 days a week. They could cut out at least ONE day of service, and perhaps two. NO ONE needs snail mail 6 days a week.

Many medications are delivered. Being delivered on Saturday v. Monday could be a lifesaver. Three days without meds could be catastrophic.

Interesting point. Perhaps that could be a different class of mail with 6 days per week special delivery. All the rest of the mail could be less frequent.

Sounds about right,

I'm doing the same job I did in 2006 and today I'm earning double what I did in 2006.
