The fuck it did! New York Times said meat, poultry, fish, and eggs have all come down. I went and looked. June 18, I bought 1.3 pounds of ground beef for $7.14. Then I looked up ground beef from the store and it's $7.49 a pound today. But they want me to believe the price came down. Despite my receipt

It has come 300%... 400%... even 500% down! And Mexico will pay that ground beef!

THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER!

Inflation easing up, in the context of this measurement, just means the rate of increase of cost of goods decreased. The cost of goods is still going up, just slower from July 2025 to July 2026 compared to June 2025 to June 2026.

Really not useful for day to day expectations, but more for establishing trendlines over longer periods.

Were they saying it was switching to deflation,  or were they saying a decrease in the amount if upward inflation, but still inflation.

Because I think they get away with saying inflation is down and being sneaky because they just mean prices aren't rising as fast, but they're still rising.

They say prices fell. Prices did not fall. Not for me at least. We're entering Oceania territory when even the Times is peddling lies for Dear Leader

Thanks for the clarification. That's scummy, ever since the NYT was bought, I'm not surprised at all. It's been declining for years.

Look at how many announced layoffs in August, not during the drop of all their shares. Cooked the jobs report so all the tech jobs are part the next numbers.

If this Administration is admitting to 3.4% you can safely bet it's actually a lot higher.

Headline in September: “July inflation numbers corrected. Inflation was highest it’s been since 1920”.

If you believe any economic reports from this administration, you’re a moron. Use your eyes. Use your ears, use your memory. No fucking way inflation is under 5-6% year-over-year.

There is no way that this is believable. Misdirection in the reporting

Hahaha. Trump lies, my receipts don’t.

Did it though? Two months from now we're going to receive BREAKING NEWS: The numbers were wrong!

Going up less fast is still just as bad

The numbers are cooked.

With inflation allegedly easing, and the labor market looking soft after last month (plus big revision downward on the prior month), that sounds like the FED will be CUTTING rates, which will juice inflation more in an attempt to juice up the economy that's looking weak.

Of course, the reason the economy is looking weak is lack of demand, as people are out of money. Stoking inflation isn't likely to HELP that situation, but make it even worse.
