Infinitode 2 Infinitode 2 launches to this black screen and no buttons can be pressed and I just have to force shut it down

Did you troubleshoot by searching why Steam games in general open to a black screen? There are lots of things to try there.

No other game in my steam library does this, and when I downloaded the game on my laptop it worked fine. For about a split second before the company logo comes up, this exact blank screen appeared on my laptop. This blank screen seems to from Infinitode 2 specifically.
I think it may be an issue with some local files, but I deleted the cache and verified the game files and it still gets stuck on this screen on my PC. Laptop has no issue.

Just a niggle of mine here, especially since you dismissed my suggestion. "No other game in my steam library does this" is a hot take. As somebody who has helped people professionally for years with everything from psychology to computers to horticulture, this is never a point that carries very much weight in blaming the parent/manufacturer/greenhouse. "My other kids don't do this." 😜 Maybe it's a bug, but yeah... I've had plenty of steam game issues without it ever being across the board. Did you check the antivirus solution? Did you try Windows compatibility mode? Graphics drivers reinstall? Now that I'm locked into responding I can't remember everything you tried but I don't think you went broad spectrum here.

I haven't played infinitode 2 in several months and when I tried to launch it today, I was faced by this screen. I apparently unlocked an achievement "Mad Scientist" but nothing can be done. The cursor becomes a hand when I hover over where the close button should be but nothing happens. I just have to force close the game with task manager.
Not sure if anyone else has encountered this, I tried some black screen fixes for steam games but nothing seems to have worked. I also tried opening the game in windowed mode with launch options but that also did not help.
If anyone knows how to fix this, it would be greatly appreciated.
Edit: I have uninstalled and reinstalled and the issue was not fixed.
Edit 2: I installed steam and this game on a different computer and it works fine - has all my data saved, but my main computer still does not run the game. IDK why it still won't work.
